Honestly I just don't understand this deal. I'm a big fan of John Danks. But did I want to acquire him for B-Mac? No, absolutely not. B-Mac should have the been the one SP in our rotation who was untouchable. 5 years of service time still left, compared to 1 year for Buehrle, 2 years for Garland etc. We should have at least tried to get Hurley and Danks here.

Another excellent defensive effort from the Hawks, especially after Vandy's game misconduct. Nice to see things picking up on an attendance standpoint as well. Also, there's this idea on the table regarding switching things to 4 divisions;

Didn't Bonderman have really good 1st half splits in 2005 and then he really fell off (or maybe I'm just not remembering that right)? So in that sense he'd shown flashes, but really he put the total package together in 2006. And considering the current market price of pitching, the Tigers have done quite well here. Schmidt is getting about $11M more over a 3 year period than Bonderman, and Bonderman could outperform him over that period of time possibly.
