  1. Honestly I just don't understand this deal. I'm a big fan of John Danks. But did I want to acquire him for B-Mac? No, absolutely not. B-Mac should have the been the one SP in our rotation who was untouchable. 5 years of service time still left, compared to 1 year for Buehrle, 2 years for Garland etc. We should have at least tried to get Hurley and Danks here.
  2. Deron Williams from down under says hi. Have a good one man!
  3. Another excellent defensive effort from the Hawks, especially after Vandy's game misconduct. Nice to see things picking up on an attendance standpoint as well. Also, there's this idea on the table regarding switching things to 4 divisions;
  4. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 06:12 PM) ? Arenas is sick. Curry's still quite young, under 25 isn't he (or maybe I'm just wrong on that). He's actually having a fairly decent season though. As for Balkman 101, he seems like a perfect 6th man in terms of the energy he brings off the bench. They signed Jeffries to start at SF though.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 10:13 AM) Huff is also a complete butcher in the field wherever he plays. It was funny how at the 2005 trade deadline there was a HUGE demand by potsers here for us to trade for Aubrey Huff because he was that LHH we needed. Balta's idea would be good, if we could play Huff into LF and trade Pods and let Iguchi lead off, but that'd be the only scenario I'd consider.
  6. David Lee is actually turning into a very nice double / double machine. If Isiah would actually just play the kids (Nate, Lee, Frye, Balkman, Curry), in a couple of years the Knicks would actually probably be pretty good.
  7. Wouldn't really want to be stuck down in the ocean with one of those things would you.
  8. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 11:31 AM) Got off of work early today and than my team and I went to a brewery down in SD for lunch, had two beers and kicked back before we left for the holiday. The last work day before Christmas is certainly one of the better working days of the year. It's not like you do anything during the day anyway (or at least that was the case in my office).
  9. Yeah I don't really know what they're thinking there if that's the case. I heard the 2 teams most likely to move into Tucson though were the Reds and Orioles, so hopefully something happens there.
  10. Bukvich used to be quite the closer in one of the old MVP baseball games.
  11. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 22, 2006 -> 05:25 PM) Seahawks Same.
  12. An Australian Cultural Dictionary for Jason, Dan and PA.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 21, 2006 -> 09:34 AM) I don't think Kenny would have signed Terrero with Erstadt on the market if he thought Darrin was a better option. But there's always the option of Terrero playing in Charlotte to start of the season. KW may of thought that Erstad may of have signed elsewhere already (although that is pretty doubtful),so hence he may try to sign him now possibly. Not saying that I want Erstad on the team because of his stats offensively though. Still hopefully we do actually do carry a backup OF who can handle CF well defensively on the 25 man roster.
  14. The only option is as a backup CF. Still I don't know whether he'd be an upgrade on Terrero or not, and there's always the question of injuries with Erstad. Still because KW almost traded for him, I could see a move like this possibly happening.
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 10:36 AM) Give me Deron. Fantasy pick of the year.
  16. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 10:16 AM) Wow, what a moron. Just read the comments. LMAO. Certainly glad we shipped that bum out of town (Trevor Ariza >>> The So Called Franchise).
  17. QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 19, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) I'm glad you liked Sam's Town, and I'm not kidding or being sarcastic, but they totally lost me with that disc. I loved Hot Fuss, and while I didn't want Hot Fuss Volume II, I was hoping for that same type of feel to the disc. As it turned out, When You Were Young is the only song I really like from that disc. I can't even list any top albums of the year, to be honest. This was a very forgettable year for music IMO. Sam's Town was certainly quite different from Hot Fuss to say the least. But some of the songs on that album such as Bling, For Reasons Unknown, Read my Mind and Sam's Town I really enjoyed, so I would probably just have it in my top 5. Brand New's new album is certainly worth listening to, been enjoying the new Deftones album, and the latest Hold Steady (which I listened to because it got recommended a lot on here) album as well. Oh and Light Grenades as well, that's got some good songs on there.
  18. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 09:44 AM) Eating a delicious club lulu right now A club lulu? Sounds like a bunch of ballet dancers or something.
  19. Didn't Bonderman have really good 1st half splits in 2005 and then he really fell off (or maybe I'm just not remembering that right)? So in that sense he'd shown flashes, but really he put the total package together in 2006. And considering the current market price of pitching, the Tigers have done quite well here. Schmidt is getting about $11M more over a 3 year period than Bonderman, and Bonderman could outperform him over that period of time possibly.
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 07:28 AM) I'd consider a package involving Ricky Romero and Rios though. Romero and Purcey would be the SP prospect I'd want along with Rios if we were going to trade either Vasquez or Garland to the Blue Jays.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 08:08 AM) I'm fairly surprised that Philly didn't hold out for JR Smith. Well Miller fills a need for them more than Smith, since Philly only have Kevin Ollie at the point. The can put Korver and Igoudala in the starting lineup now as well. So I think all things considering Billy King actually did well here. They'll have 3 1st round picks in the upcoming draft (should get one of the big's to build around). Now all they need to do is to dump Webber on somebody.
  22. Sweet. Now's just the matter of finding a replacement team in Tucson. And I'm definitely going to try and make my way back to Glendale in the upcoming years if we do indeed move our ST operations there.
  23. Nice to hear from you again Josh. And I wish a happy holidays to everybody (even though I am a bit premature).
  24. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Dec 18, 2006 -> 04:36 PM) You've gotta give the secondary a little more of a break. I'm not saying they played well today, but they're also playing without their best cover corner and without a decent hitting safety in Todd Johnson. I'm much more worried about the interior of our D-Line than our secondary... It goes both ways I guess. Without argubly the best DT in the game in Tommy Harris, it's going to impact the Bears ability to stop the run and rush the QB. So to compensate that, the CB's and safeties have to step up their game. And when you don't have the likes of Brown, Johnson and Vasher like you said, it's going to be hard. That's why it's crucial those guys in the secondary get healthy ASAP.
  25. Isaiah has to coach the Knicks. That should be punishment enough.
