  1. QUOTE(kman @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) get credes ass outa there pablo new 3rd baseman here on out.!!! Haha. Apologize to the Rally Crede please.
  2. Wow I just got up, and it's 8-2. Fan-freakin-tastic.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) Wow, they have really given up on Morneau QUICK. You can help thank Torii Hunter for that.
  4. Wow, if Terry Ryan does this, well that just ain't too good for the Twinkies.
  5. There are going to be other teams with some good cap space as well. I know Orlanod has Cato and Battie's contract coming off the books plus Doug Christie's, which equlas 20M in cap space. And then teams like the Bobcats as well. And in a weak FA class, the Bulls may get no-ine. But I'd consider them favorites for Peja right now.
  6. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) MSG SportsDesk just reported we received Eddy Curry and Antonio Davis and Chicago got Tim Thomas, Mike Sweetney, Jermaine Jackson and 2 picks! Wow. Now that's a good deal for the Bulls.
  7. Ok so all of those posts bagging Curry weren't for naught I see. I see Larry Brown chewing him out for lack of defense or a missed rebound at least 50 times this season, probably more. As for the trade, I'd expect it to be Tim Thomas and David Lee or Trevor Ariza.
  8. Loving It. DeMarcus Ware = Is still very raw, but has that natural ability. Gave away 3 off-side penalties on the weekend. Will be a star though. Marcus Spears = Haven't seen a lot from him, but I won't expect to, he's there to clog up the 3-4, has a couple of sacks, looks a good solid pick. Kevin Burnett = Hasn't started cos of a knee injury, but if you saw how Bradie James was against the run yesterday, Burnett will be starting very soon. Marion Barber = Thought he was a good pick, as of yet, not so. Perfect example yesterday 3rd and 1, instead of powering for the 1st, danced to the side and got tackled just before the 1st down line. Got chewed out by Parcells. Chris Canty = The steal of the draft so far. Already making plays, and really should be starting ahead of Greg Ellis right now. Justin Berrault = Out for the year injured with microfracture surgery, but looked a ballhawk at SS in TC. Unfortunately he's got 1 Roy Williams in front of him. Based on this season so far, I'd say our needs are at LB, FS, WR and RT.
  9. QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 01:05 AM) question: why does every college girl here look up to paris hilton? I'm guessing their standards aren't that high.
  10. QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 4, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) so i definitely didn't get my spanish conflict exam. so this means 1) i won't be able to go to game 2 on wednesday AND 2) the exam is at 7, the game starts at 6, so i'll be missing a good portion of it awesome. Spanish Conflict?
  11. KW was thinking about not putting Viz in the playoff rotation so it definitely has been discussed. Doubt it happens though.
  12. QUOTE(ScottyDo @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) I dunno, I think Dye will be in the 3-hole come Tuesday. It seems relatively apparent that that's Ozzie's line of thought. He was in there for the two dress rehearsals, and he performed admirably against a good pitching staff. Carl's been hitting a lot better in the very recent past (I was sitting just above his first triple at Comerica Park) so I wouldn't mind him in the 5 spot. Make them think twice about putting Pecan on! As for Paulie, you can't let him leave the south side if you're Kenny Williams. He's more than a bargain at almost any price, considering what he gives your club in numbers AND in PR. He's never been a problem on any level, which is more than you can say for a number of other superstars. Plus, without him, we don't have a lot of All-Stars. Just pay the man! Yeah Dye's definitely going to be in the #3 spot come today;
  13. Remember at the start of the season when KW said we could have 5 15 game winners in our rotation. Well 3 ain't too shabby, and Freddy was only 1 game away. JC also had about the 3rd lowest BAA for starters in the AL behind Santana and Zito. Shows how impressive he's been when he cuts down on the walks, forces hitters to put the ball in play, and not giving up the long-ball.
  14. QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 06:44 PM) Sabathia made the same mistake Dimtri Young made. Maybe they can watch the playoffs together. Yep, it's quite a list they got going. C.C Sabathia. Dimitri Young. Craig Monroe. ESPN Experts.
  15. No errors. You make mistakes in the field, it'll only put more pressure on yourself.
  16. QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 11:38 AM) Is it Jose's turn in the rotation? I'd have started Freddie in Game One, just a gut feeling he'd be the man. p.s. which team do the shadows favor? The game will be played in the shadows of late afternoon baseball. Freddie pitches far better away than at home anyways. JC's got the momentum, it's the right move.
  17. Matt Clement has only pitched once against us in 2005. He pitched 6 innings, gave up 4 runs, 3 to the long ball, with 2 BB's and 5 K's, for an ERA of 6. He's had a 5.72 ERA since the All Star Break. His K/BB ratio has dropped significantly from pre ASB 97/35 to 49/33. He's ripe for the picking. Keep Dye in the 3 spot. Keep Everett in the 5 or 6 spot. If the likes of Crede and Uribe can produce some hits, I'm confident we'll get the job done. FWIW JC's numbers. 2.96 ERA since the ASB. K/BB ratio improved from 72/47 to 82/27. In the 1 game he faced against Boston, 5.2IP, 3ER, 2 to the long-ball, 2BB's and 6K's for an ERA of 4.76. He gives up the long ball far more at home, so that's my main issue with him tomorrow. If he doesn't give up any homers, I'm confident he'll produce as he has done in the 2nd half. Only 7HR's given up since the ASB anyways.
  18. If you can't protect Drew Bledsoe and stop the run, Dallas isn't going to win a lot of games this season. They didn't deserve to have any chance to win the game, Oakland's sloppy tackling and penalties did that for them.
  19. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) We lost games against KC and the Twins that we really should have won... The KC games are understandable to be very annoyed at. The majority of the games we would have lost to Minny in the 2nd half though would have been against Johan Santana. And I know the pessimists are going to say, "well we should have figured out a way to hit him by now", but he's Johan Santana, and probably the best pitcher in baseball.
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 08:47 AM) I think Ozzie Guillen has a different opinion on that matter. They got the job done though right? Those players were good enough to get us that lead. How do you think someone like Ron Gardenhire is feeling in their players right now?
  21. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) 28-7 in 35 games for the Indians pretty much sums it up. Which means we would have had to go what about 23-12 to have a 10 game lead still? And for the record our record since the ASB; July - 11-6 August - 12-16 September - 17-12 October - 2-0 So that's 42-34. A winning percentage of about .552. There are 7 teams in the MLB who have a higher winning percentage then this. BUT WE CHOKED, so it's all irrelevent.
