  1. I would prepare yourself to be very disappointed with those assumptions
  2. They built up the division lead during the injuries! That’s what I hope that we look back on in the future, not this narrative that injuries somehow affected this outcome. We are here now with The healthiest lineup we could’ve hoped for, and it isn’t making a damn difference
  3. They wont win in Houston. If they win the next two games, it’s just more proof that they should’ve tried to earn home-field advantage instead of punting every other game
  4. Atleast everyone is contributing to this mess. Offense yesterday, starting pitching both games, bullpen today, defense today. Maybe we can use the “let’s build momentum into Chicago” line with a few useless 9th inning hits
  5. For the future of this franchise……between winning a meaningless game at home or being swept, I’d rather they just lose outright 15-0. Sorry if you spent money for Sunday’s game, but prolonging this series won’t do anything but give false hope. No way they’re stringing together three wins against Houston. Everything that we could possibly point to and say was a detriment to this team has been shown these first two games.
  6. Please no “tip your cap” Johan Santana type of excuses if we face him in Game 5. We’re not talking about unbeatable force here. Teams have scored off of him, if we can believe it.
  7. The purpose of spring training is to have enough consistent work in preparation for the season. Why was this concept all the sudden ignored for the positional players coming off injuries? Especially before the playoffs where we would be expected to face talented pitching. The amount of rest was absurd, and many mentioned it would affect them later.
  8. It never made sense that they punted HFA, considering how well they play at home. I’d rather have a 80% healthy roster at home than a 100% healthy roster on the road. If it meant several of these guys playing through some nagging injuries, oh well. They have time to rest in the postseason. But by the body language and approach to game 1, they may be all resting pretty soon
  9. If this series goes to 5 games, guess who we’re facing again? In Houston. Better learn from this game because their offensive approach has been terrible.
  10. Thankfully they considered HFA wasn’t worth fighting for. Why bother when we can rest our roster in preparation for a game 1 beat down!
  11. Same here. I turned it off. Switching back and forth. I don’t need to see the corpseball ABs for another three innings
  12. This isn’t the time for moral victories or pushing the perception of Tony’s boys not giving up. Their approach to McCullers is showing everything we need to know. They think they’re done today. Throw out Cuckel to finish the game.
  13. That’s not very encouraging of an answer to the question of how can this team just flip the switch in the playoffs
  14. At some point, these guys are going to have to tough it out. They need consistent ab’s against major league pitching more than an extra day of rest. We cannot expect them to enter the playoffs and immediately click for the Houston series
  15. And when Oct 7 arrives, do we assume everyone in the lineup who has had significant rest will be ready to face ML pitching? These guys need some consistent ab’s. Rotate DH if need be. The second half coasting will only be a distant memory if they make it out of the 1st round. Otherwise, the excessive resting will be a convenient excuse. In addition to the botched deadline
  16. Far too many opponents recently have looked comfortable against him. For his level of stuff, I just can’t believe they can adjust to his fastball and slider as confidently as we’ve seen. It’s uncanny But on that issue, how could such a problem exist and we haven’t identified it yet?
  17. I went back on the broadcast you’re right. They definitely lessened the boos
