Casual Fans
So with a 6-2 start you still couldn’t get up to watch this team? That convinced? It’s obviously been a week from hell and injuries since the lockout ended are absolutely insane. But this team is still plenty talented to win this division handily even in spite of TLR. I hate Tony with a passion and agree he was an awful hire, and I’ve felt that since day 1. But assuming this team can shake this malaise in the next couple weeks, we should be fine even if the Sox don’t do the right thing and move on from LaRussa asap.

TLR 2022 Thread
It would be nice if the reporters that cover this team actually put his feet to the fire a bit. He should be getting roasted daily for this past week. It’s just horrible managing. A casual fan could have done a better job.

Sox @ Twins
I don’t think Hahn is shrugging this off. I think he’d love to can TLR. Problem is it’s not his call and JR will never allow it. That was some painful shit. Went to all three this weekend. Saw that one coming. Larussa with 3 big mistakes in the 9th. Not pinch running for Yaz was dumb. No reason to not pinch run Engel on that spot. McGuire maybe stops that passed ball. Then not checking on Liam when he was clearly hurting, but worst of all - why in the flying fuck do you face Buxton there!?’?! You’re on a tough spot regardless but you set up the DP, get forces everywhere, Aarraez is super unlikely to homer. It makes less than no sense. Please for the love of god give us a new manager on Tuesday.

Sox @ Twins
Is there any hope whatsoever that a couple more losses in a row would result in a major coaching staff change? If so, I’m happy to sacrifice a few more games to make that happen. The Sox will be far better off with Larussa out of the way. Of course I also realize that scenario is fantasy land.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
6-8 weeks feels awfully optimistic. I think this is just a placeholder until he gets back to Chicago and gets further tests.

I can’t find any flaws in your logic, CWS.

What The Actual F# Is Wrong With This Team?
I wouldn’t. I’d take Moncada over Urshela. AV over Larnach. Our entire (healthy) pitching staff for the most part over theirs. The Twins are going to be a .500ish ball club and that’s likely our best competition.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
Safe assumption. Dude tore his hammy. If he’s back it’ll be late, he’ll be out of shape, and will suck. It’s just reality. The last thing Eloy needed was another long absence. Eloys outlook unfortunately is never going to fully rebound. He’s an often injured DH with a world of offensive talent he’s unlikely to stay healthy long enough to tap into. It really fucking sucks, but this isn’t surprising. I jus thought it would happen playing LF.

Yes. Yes it does.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
Sox kind of have to find a bat now right? AV now takes over LF where he should have been to begin with. Pollock RF and Sheets now primary DH. Jimmy mentioned on Twitter that Sox should sign Justin Upton. I believe he would only cost the league min. Guess you could give Adolfo a shot now as well, though he certainly hasn’t earned it in his SSS in AAA. In the interim, I suppose Engel is in the OF and AV Dhing against LHP. But hitting lefties still definitely isn’t this teams problem.

Eloy Out 6-8 Weeks
Gavin Sheets earns another life. Man. Eloy. What a kick to the nuts. Not even surprising. Hurts

4/23 GT: Sox @ MIN (3:05 CST)
Who could have seen this coming!?!? That being said, the recent news that Conforto is still not throwing and may not even be able to play this year makes that whole fiasco a little more understandable. Sounds he should have jsut gotten surgery when it happened. If Pollock could be relied upon to actually play most days, he'd help the problem some - even as righty.

I think it is a sign that the Sox love McGuire behind the plate. And he is very good back there.

Lineup is decent. McGuire is there again today. YAz DHing. Leury down to 7, so that's an improvement.

TA suspended one game, will appeal.
He was embarrassed. And rightfully so.

TA suspended one game, will appeal.
Ehhhh. TA is who he is. I’m not concerned about flipping a guy off or bat throws. Who cares. He plays the game his way. The defense tho is a problem and he needs to fix that. He’s also looked horrible at the plate for at least a week.

Was going to pick TA but figured his escapades at SS would have rendered a negative war to this point.

AV, Sheets, Robert, Pollock and Mendick?

4/23 GT: Sox @ MIN (3:05 CST)
Yeah. Frankly I’d be shocked if AV played. I’m not quite there yet, but honestly a few more losses might actually make the Sox do something with TLR. It’s early enough that Sox can rebound from it… Like I said, not quite there. But can Sox really sit on their hands if they lose 3-4 more games on a row looking like a team of minor leaguers with a manager trying to throw the season?
-
4/23 GT: Sox @ MIN (3:05 CST)
There it is. TLR gonna go with the first one tho.

Did Tony hack into your account to write that lineup? Blink if you’re in trouble CWS.

TLR 2022 Thread
Leury has a role on this team. But with dipshit McGee running the show, the only answer to using him properly may be removing him from the roster. Never gonna happen tho after paying him $15M.

How Concerned Should We Be?
At this point, I’m very concerned for a multitude of reasons. This team is a disaster right now. This division still sucks, which should keep the Sox in the hunt. I expect they’ll play better ball eventually, but hopefully it’s not too late. I don’t see this flip being switched imminently.
