I am guessing Pham had no trade value. Which makes sense frankly. Basically a 0 WAR player, league average hitter and isn't a good defender. Been bad for several weeks now, and still due a couple million (believe he has a $1M trade bonus), so perhaps he was just a salary dump. So if you look at is at Fedde for Vargas, and one of the low level IFs and Kopech for the other low level IFs, I guess it make slightly more sense if you wink like 50x. But still doesn't explain the STL/Edman side of it. Feels like LAD got hosed here too.

This. I am all for moving Beni in a bad $ for bad $ deal. Its obvious he isn't what this team needs, and they just need to let Colas and Fletcher play the OF the rest of the season.

I guess if that's the best offer you have, you can always try to move Rushing for a different prospect this winter (or even via a 3-way in the same deal). I still really dislike an LAD package tho. Unless its a massive overpay from them, I'd rather just hold Crochet and move him this winter when 29 clubs will be interested.

Yeah, I’m not as anti Walker as some seem to be. Dude was a consensus top 5 prospect in the game 350 days ago. It’s gonna be tough to find more upside for Fedde, plus he still has 5 years of control even if Sox brought him straight up post trade. Not saying I love it or it’s without risk, but the talent is there. Sounds like Cards rebuffed the request anyway.

There obviously could be more moving parts to the deal. I doubt it’s just Fedde to STL, Edman to LAD and 1 player to Sox.

Mena has like a 1.6 WHIP in AAA. Not saying I support the trade necessarily, but he’s very likely JAG.

I’m sure it’s been discussed because I’m sure someone like LAD would love to do that, but that doesn’t mean the Sox are actually entertaining it.

Because they absolutely need to maximize the talent infusion from the Crochet trade. Not save $16M a year on an already super duper low amount of future commitments. I get you hate everything white Sox and love to predict doom and gloom, but this just seems so terribly unlikely and Sox fans just assuming the worst.

This doesn’t make much sense. Even with an extension, Crochet would still be very cheap in 25-26.

How come Getz doesn’t do a media scrum at the beginning of most homestand like Hahn did? Or does he and the media just doesn’t share anything from it because interest is so low?

That says more about the players than anything. This roster is going to turn over so much between today and next April I’m not too concerned about that tbh. That said, AJ would probably be towards the bottom of my top 10 (realistic) candidates. But when you drive a 95 Ford Aspire, a 2010 Camry is a hell of an improvement.
