Manaea to Padres, Sox were in on him
Don’t let logic get in the way of a good Parkman pessimistic rant with those heels dug in.

Lance Lynn has slight tendon tear, 4 weeks no throwing off mound
Just check out the posting history of the guy that ruled Lynn out for 3-4 months. Not hard to figure out the extreme bias.

Manaea to Padres, Sox were in on him
As probably wanted a pitcher that could help this year. They’re not exactly flush with options at the moment. Sox don’t have that to offer.

Lol. Ok Jack. Vaughn for Keller is a comically bad proposal. Thank god you’re not running this org.

IDGAF about Vaughn’s stats from last year. He skipped AA and AAA and hadn’t played in a game for over a year, and is a year removed from being a consensus top 20 prospect in the game as a 1B, and certainly would have been much higher if he played OF in college. He has enormous offensive upside. And on top of all that has more control than Keller. you have a lot of really bad takes, but this is up there.

Manaea to Padres, Sox were in on him
The same people moaning for the Padres would be complaining to no end if the Sox made the same moves.

Manaea to Padres, Sox were in on him
Sure. But not for AV as Jack suggested. That’s bonkers.

Manaea to Padres, Sox were in on him
Assuming Lynn isn’t seriously hurt, I’m fine missing out on Manaea. Dude just doesn’t move the needle much. But we certainly need to add some SP depth in the next few days. This does, however, seem like a very bearable package. But appears Oakland wanted some pitching that could help sooner than we could provide.

Well fuck.

Crochet having Tommy John surgery Tuesday
TJS confirmed by Crochet.

Kimbrel traded for AJ Pollock
He’s useful if he’s not over exposed. I think the fear from last year is TLR will find a way to get Leury in the lineup most days, often at the expense of better players.

Spring Training Roster Cuts
Giys are optioned when on 40 man roster and reassigned to minor league camp when not on 40 man.

Why the Sox should NOT trade for Sean Manaea
Im all for acquiring Manaea for the right price. But most of deals discussed here are overpays imo. Manaea is solid but unspectacular, especially for just 1 market value season.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Rodon has a much longer track record of being hurt. Madrigal may get to that point, but he’s not there yet. I don’t even know why we’re taking about Madrigal. He’s gone. But he’s a better player than Harrison and it’s not particularly close. He may get injured every season, he may not. Neither of us know.
-
Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Lol. Madrigal put up 1.3 fWAR in 50 some games last year. Harrison 1.5 in 130 some games. That was Harrison’s best season since 2017. Madrigal is a far more effective player.
-
Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Emphasis on lite. Harrison hasn’t sniffed a season as valuable on a per game basis as Madrigals half season in 2021 since 2017.

Score the Offseason!
Rodon hardly even pitched the 2nd half the season and we have a replacement in Kopech who very well may be significantly better than Rodon already, albeit with workload constraints. Not that Rodon didn’t have those same constraints. Some people vastly overrate Rodon around here. If dude makes 40 starts in two years for SF I’d be shocked. He’s proven himself unreliable time and time again.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Madrigal is going to be just fine. He was a really good fit for this team and I wish we still had him. He’d fit this team much better than Harrison. He may struggle with injuries his entire career - his early career would indicate as such, but you never know. It was an awful trade but it’s time to move on.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I would have rather just sign a backend SP than give up that kind of package for Manaea. I think if Sox we’re willing to give that package, he’d be in Sox camp already.
-
Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Just feels unnecessary. Sheets + Kath/Ramos + one of the HS pitchers is a big ask for 30 starts.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Makes my skin crawl doing such imagining.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I will absolutely lose my mind if this happens. Sox can’t possibly be that dumb. Right!?!? that being said, Phil Rogers doesn’t know Jack shit.
-
Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I think that’s all fair. Not against adding Manaea at all. Just not at any cost. There are definitely a handful of names even in our weak system I’m not moving for a max of ~ 30 Manaea starts.
-
Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I agree Sox need more lefties. But Vaughn is an elite offense talent. Sheets very well could just be a guy. It’s Sheets that has no where to play right now, not Vaughn.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Yeah twins are definitely caught in between. But they’re paying Correa $35M this year, extended Buxton and have made other shorter term moves. I think (know) they’re still after another SP. Do think they prefer Montas to Manaea tho.
