Completely agree. I think they're just scared to punt him. We're a Goodwin or Sheets injury away from being super duper short on lefty bats again. I think they'll just option Sheets for Robert and trying to make it til 9/1. Then call up Sheets and Zavala (goes does when Yaz comes back). Would be nice to have another arm in the pen, but I would think they'd want a 3rd catcher, and I don't see them not brining Sheets back.
Edit: but that doesn't include Billy, who I think they'd want. So honestly, not sure. Guessing they're just trying to keep him in the org in case they need him, but the more I think about it, his roster spot is much better used elsewhere.
I know you're just joking, but I do think his 20 days are up on Monday. So if they want to keep him AAA, they're going to have to option him after this weekend which I highly doubt they'll do.
Said it many times before, and I’ll say it many times again. Yaz is the glue of this team. He’s the perfect fit. He counteracts a lot of what this team does poorly. Is he a perfect player? No but he’s really damn good and the squad misses him dearly. Doesn’t help that Collins flopped with his chance at extended play and Zeby is at best a well below replacement level player.
Gotcha, just previous to that you were saying Kimbrel wouldn’t return anything of note without eating $. Which is comical considering what he just returned 5 days ago.
Goodwin is awful everywhere in the OF, but purely from the eye test, I think he's a better CF than RF. Of course, he's still an awful CF. But looks more comfortable there.
Lets win again. Last night was fun!
Guess at lineup: Anderson SS, Hernandez 2B, Abreu 1B, Sheets DH, Moncada 3B, Vaughn LF, Goodwin RF, Leury CF, Collins C
Eloy gets the rest and is back in there tomorrow.
I mean, he's 4 weeks into a 4-6 week timeline. I wouldn't expect TLR to say much of anything, but he's no longer ahead of schedule. In fact, he'll be behind schedule if he doesn't go out for a rehab assignment this week.
