  1. No more insane that batting Eaton 2nd. Grandal has a ,391 OBP, 116 OPS+, 126 wRC+. Pretty much any metric you use, he's been well above average. Its sort of tough to watch visually and certainly understand the frustartion, but getting him on base in front of the guys that can actually drive him in makes a ton more sense than getting on base for the bottom third of this lineup that isn't very good as currently constructed.
  2. Off crutches is a pretty good news. That means he can probably start light rehab. Maybe jogging. I am hopeful we'll have him back mid-summer. FWIW - Buxton sounds like he'll be off on a rehab assignment later this week. Obviously Luis' injury was more severe, but avoiding surgery perhaps made it sound like it wasn't a complete tear and perhaps a more mild grade 3 strain. Shortly after ASG return would be real nice.
  3. Guessing it hasn't happened yet or we'd be seeing twitter updates from the beat writers.
  4. Eh, not really sure there is a better option atm, but no need to put him in the 2 hole. Once Engel is back, Leury can play RF against LHP. Until then...I'd rahter Eaton vs. LHP than Billy. I think?
  5. TA, Moncada, Grandal, Abreu, Yermin, Vaughn, Engel, Eaton/Leury, Madrigal is probably how I would line em' up once Engel is back. Flip flop Moncada/Grandal if need be, but I feel like putting the slower guys together makes sense as opposed to Yoan following Yaz.
  6. I would tend to agree - but we're not anywhere near full strength. Based on the current roster construction, I think the 2 hole makes the most sense. Or 3rd, and move Yoan back to 2nd. Which is probably what i would do, but i doubt they move Moncada around right. Back half of the lineup then gets very, very right handed tho.
  7. Updates on Eloy and Luis that put them back in Chicago in late July to early August would be SOOOOOOOOOOOO damn good to hear.
  8. If anyone comes across a link to someone sharing the audio/video, please post in here.
  9. Didn't realize this was an ESPN game. Blehhhh
  10. Lamb or Mendick. My guess is Mendick cause he has options and Tony seems to like Lamb. I don't think Engel/Hamilton are all that redundant because Engel is going to play most days until Robert comes back. Hamilton goes back to what he should be doing which is strictly late inning defense / pinch running. vs. RHP: Vaughn/Engel/Eaton' vs. LHP: Vaughn/Engel/Leury. I assume we'll still see Leury take some CF starts against RHP, but you get the idea.
  11. Will Elijah play any affiliated ball this year? Where is he at currently?
  12. Who do you suggest, then? I am not a big Gallo guy by any means, but there isn't exactly a plethora of options. Gallo is basically the RF version of Grandal, so he wouldn't go over very well here, but he is a well above average ball player even with the poor batting average. My biggest issue is acquisition cost. If we could get him for mishmash of guys unlikely ever to be serious contributors to the Sox the next 4-6 seasons - I'd be all for it. But I don't see that all that likely.
  13. Well, to be fair, when you lose two potential MVP caliber OF's, thins are going to get hairy. No team - even the Dodgers - are insulated for that.
  14. At this point, may as well try it. He’ll be back. I’m in full support of finding a way to get him off mlb roster for 3 weeks at some point. He’s not hitting at all right now, so seems like a good time.
  15. Eloy and Robert won’t be back for awhiiiiiiilllleeee, unfortunately.
  16. Haniger would be nice, but I just wouldn't want to give up a ton for him. He's always hurt, and and even though he's mashed in 2021 the OBP is still poor. Also not exactly sure he's the guy I want in RF in 2022. Makes the right handed heavy lineup more right handed, and also just makes the corner OF/1B/DH situation even more cloudy. Would I take him? For sure. Would I give up and current mlb pieces or a top 5 prospect for him? No.
  17. The craziest thing about this manager situation - I legitimately despised Ricky's in-game management. It was horrible, and at the time, I thought just about anyone would be a better in game tactician. Fast forward 8 months and we have a man who will likely finish his career 2nd all time in MLB managerial wins, and I would literally do anything to have Ricky back at the helm. Still would disagree a lot with his on field decisions, but at least he was a fantastic man who everyone in the clubhouse loved playing for. Truly an amazing example of the grass isn't always greener. Have to imagine Rick Hahn has very similar feelings at the moment.
  18. I wasn't referring to the other 34 occasions, Champ. I was referring to the occasion that our senile, out of touch, racist POS manager was a part of.
  19. It literally says right in there that in 2000 Thomas Howard, a guy TLR managed on the Cards at the time, hit a 3-0 homer off a position player, and TLR didn't make a big stink about it. So no idea what you're talking about.
  20. Did you read the quoted article? Yes or No?
  21. Someone tweet this at Fegan. He actually has the balls to ask The Ol' Bag about it.
  22. The good ones also make enough money to never worry about money again if they're not dumbasses. So there's that.
