QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:22 PM) Really not sure about ranger prospects but that doesn't seem like a lot to me. I have a feeling a lot of dominos are going to fall after Hamels goes. Not sure the dominoes can fall much quicker than they are already.

QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:02 PM) I'm not sure I understand why Texas wants him. Next three years for $65M is hell of a lot cheaper than he'd be on the open market.

s*** is going DOWN tonight.

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:54 PM) Chris Johnson? Answering my own question...no Jim Johnson.
-
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:47 PM) If completed, Dodgers get Wood, Latos, Johnson, Peraza, Morse. Braves get Olivera, Zach Bird, draft pick. Marlins get 3 low-level pitchers. https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/626568766088978433 Chris Johnson?

Crazy crazy trade.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:19 PM) Trading Wood and Peraza for a guy they got outbid on seems like a terrible trade for the Braves I'm sure they're getting more.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:14 PM) That makes a lot more sense, Atlanta has to be getting someone more helpful than Morse when they move Wood. Olivera's on the OKC DL, but this is clearly a long-term move for them at 3B. It's crazy how the Dodgers can just go out and stockpile all these Cubans like Olivera, Guerrera and Arruebarrena and then use them as trade chips right and left. I agree with the premise of your concern, but to fair, hey haven't traded any of those guys yet. But they have basically purchased several draft picks.

QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 08:13 PM) Wheeler has a lot of potential, what's Gomez' contract like? Signed next year for under $10M. So great.
-
Gotta be Puig. Unless it's Seager or Urias. So far nothing has been mentioned going to Atlanta.
-
Sounds like the dodgers are also getting one of the Braves young pitchers. Tehran maybe?
-
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 04:21 PM) Sounds like the Dodgers assumed they could find a taker for Morse. The speculated third team was that assumption. Oops. Maybe that will result in them finding a taker for Ethier instead!!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 04:12 PM) Pittsburgh has been rumored to want to part with Alvarez on the "headcase/we're tired of him" level. If LaRoche were putting up similar numbers, which he was a couple weeks ago, I could have seen that making sense - the Pirates take on some extra money but remove their headcase problem. Unfortunately LaRoche's numbers have been in such a tailspin while Alvarez has had a good week, so it no longer looks like a plausible matchup. This is dismissing the fact that LaRoche has a nice glove at 1B and without a DH, that would be welcome in Pitt. Alvarez is a butcher. Still don't see it as a fit, but I kind of hope Rick has at least explored the idea.

Just don't even give his page the hits. Fanboy article.

Alexei Ramirez, option buyout, and comp pick
ChiSox59 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Sox should decline the option and sign him for cheaper. Obviously opens up the possibility of him signing elsewhere, but so be it. That said, they'll pick up his option. -
Would have preferred 4 or 5 guys at Charlotte over Leury, but whatever.

Have a really hard time understanding why Soto isn't given more starts! Flowers will start for Sale tomorrow, but Geo back in there tonight!

QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 12:14 PM) this is me.... and this is on me only. i can't stand watching tv. i haven't watfch tv since my 2nd heartache in 2006.... so when i want to watch something, it call searching on the puter. also remember one thing, i usually don't agree with a lot of ideas that is said on this board, that doesn't mean i dislike anyone posters, it is the idea..... many get offended that anyone would disagree with them. haha. plus i don't follow anyone b/c of this board. i am weird. it not my fault, the doctor dropped me at birth. You can watch MLB.tv on your computer or TV (if you have Apple TV or a gamingsystem).

QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 12:07 PM) since i live in Louisianan, there isn't much baseball to follow. so i can't watch as much as sox basball as i would like. when i do go to chi, i go to as many sox games as i can. i lived in chi and i live and die sox since the mid 60's and i was a season ticket holder from 85-95. so i know i am taking the long way around to answering you questioning but i guess that answer would be no, i do not watch much baseball on tv. i follow sox basball on the internet in nbc game view as much as i can. does that count?? For sure. Not questioning your fandom, just curious. You ever thought about MLB.tv? U can get all games from anywhere outside the Chicago market.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:56 AM) Is Abreu even feeling better? Sure has been driving the ball.

QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) that option is sport start anyone is really the sox manager's option. i just think EJ needs to be there for immediate use. just in case..... for the semantic dispute of a 6-man rotation is having a 6th man for a pitching duties,..... doesn't that mean the same as a sport starter???? it has a wide definition of a description that is used. LDF, don't take this the wrong way, but I have honestly grown curious reading your message the past few years...do you actually watch much baseball, or just sort of follow box scores and post on/read this website?

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:49 AM) Alexei. Yep, asked before I read the whole thread. My bad.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:03 AM) By the way, I'm not saying I want it, I'm just wondering if the Jays ultimately made the grab for Tulo with the intend on moving him again (maybe they didn't...hell if I know). They obviously paid a steep enough price that they would have to feel comfortable either way (moving him or keeping him). Who would play SS for the Jays?
-
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 11:06 AM) I would feel so much better about the Sox chances knowing they went at least 6-4 the next 10. Unfortunately, they don't have that kind of time. 6-4!?!?! This team isn't going to lose another game!!!!
