  1. Hector Gomez has broken some big stuff recently. Definitely worth a follow on Twitter. He broke Cano and Castillo PED news.
  2. if and when the signing is announced, I'm blaring this shit at 11
  3. Batting him second doesn’t even make sense from a development standpoint because you want to make sure that your best players are getting the most plate appearances.
  4. Anderson Moncada Machado Abreu Alonso/Palka Eloy Palka/Alonso Castillo Jay/Engel
  5. If Jon Jay is batting second, you’re not serious about winning.
  6. Awesome, I wanted them to improve the bullpen going into this season. Colome and now Herrera with guys like Jones, Fry, Hamilton and Vieira, the bullpen might be the team’s biggest strength. I expect that this takes them out of the Ottavino race but I still would like for them to sign another guy with high leverage experience like Brad Boxberger.
  7. Tulo is getting paid the league minimum.
  8. I dot trust Levine, meanwhile I trust Jeff Passan. He probably won’t drag Levine like Heyman did.
  9. If the market for Harper is the Sox and the Nats, then that’s good news for us fans. Like Steve Phillips said, the Nats offered him $300M, which their owner said was their final offer and they already spent more than half of that already.
  10. Hopefully the Yankees stay true to their word and don’t sign Machado to anything over $300M. That would be a help to the Sox in regards to Harper.
  11. The Giants have a lot of bad contracts. I don’t see them taking on another, especially that Heyward deal at all.
  12. Don’t forget WetButt23 answer KatyPerrysBootyHole
  13. I think we’re past the point of the 26th man/inactive roster spot being a necessity. The Sox could take a page from the Dodgers by taking adventure of and manipulating the 7-Day DL too but to do that they need to amass starting pitching depth.
  14. I totally agree with Covey best serving the team as a swingman. However, I think that he would be a fantastic ‘opener’ for the team. I also think that employing an opener would really help out someone like Giolito. If anyone is not not a fan of the idea of an opener, remember that the Rays employed it for a big chunk of the season and they won 90 games.
  15. All those guys have high leverage experience.
  16. It appears that the team is interested in having a competition for the fifth spot in the rotation and it figures that Jordan Stepehens, Covey and Banuelos are some in house options but are there any names out there on the market, that you guys would like to see the team add into the race? I wouldn't be upset with Drew Hutchinson, Shelby Miller, or Clay Buchholz. I think Miller and Hutchinson could be non-roster invitees.
  17. I really want the team to lock down another experienced reliever (Ottavino, Britton, Allen, Herrera, Boxberger, Holland) . I think that shortening the games for the (young) rotation would be an incredibly smart move as they gear towards competitiveness.
  18. I don’t think that it’s a coincidence that in a span of a few days we heard that the Cubs are going to make a run at Bryce Harper and that both Harper and Machado don’t like Philadelphia. I think the Sox and the Phillies come out of this winter with one of these guys, I just can’t figure out who’s getting who.
  19. If you want the rebuild to succeed then you should want the Sox to be opportunistic. The chances of guys like Harper and Machado (first tier players, who are just entering their prime as they become free agents) being free agents again down the road is slim to none. While it’s not in their control, the Sox have to jump in on this opportunity. I’d rather get one of these too early, than pass on them all together. What’s so hard to understand?
  20. You have to be at the front of the line if you’re a free agent in those leagues because there is a salary cap and money is limited. Of course there’s no salary cap in MLB, so players can take their time and really think about this decision because the money is always going to be there.
  21. "What a joke of an org!" I'm sure someone here is thinking this right now.
  22. I need to know the corresponding move. Palka... Delmonico... one of those guys has to go, I think.
  23. I would give him SS money but he’s playing third for me. Anderson is better defensively, he has way better range and he took some massive strides with his defense as the season progressed
  24. Why would Hahn say anything publicly that Boras or any other agent could fuck him with later in negotiations? Hahn is a lawyer by trade, you can’t read too much into his comments when it comes to things like this because a lot of the time he’s not saying anything of real substance.
