  1. I forgot about him, he had a K/9 of 10.4. Ottavino: 13.0 Allen: 10.7 Britton: 7.5 (GB% of 73%) Herrera: 7.7
  2. I’m not expecting anything from him due to his health issues, whatever he gives the Sox is a bonus in my eyes.
  3. A Sox pen with Colome, Fry, Bummer, Hamilton, Vieira, the eventual arrival of Burdi and one of Allen/Ottavino/Herrera/Britton would be pretty sick. They have a young staff, so they should be looking to shorten the games for them.
  4. The Sox lost 470lbs and got a whole lot better today.
  5. There’s no long term fit, he has no position and has no real value outside of hitting homers and he had a down power year last year. Good decision.
  6. Really like this move for the Sox. They have a legit closer and the winter meetings haven’t even started and they were right to sell high on Navarez because he’s unlikely to repeat that performance from last year. I would still like to see the Sox sign another reliever like Allen, Britton or Ottavino at the meetings.
  7. I don’t think he gets that kind of money (and solid years) considering his injury history. He’ll definitely get more than Smyly and Eovaldi because he’s proven to be the better player when healthy but the injury history is veryreal.
  8. If he’s not healthy after year one of the contact, you declined the option. Problem solved.
  9. In terms of base salary that’s $18M and an AAV of $6M, assuming that you pick up both options. If you think that’s ridiculous, then please look at his career numbers. In his first two years as a starter Richards had an ERA+ of 116, 3.30 FIP, 8 K/9 and 3 BB/9. Over the past three years Richards has started just 28 games. In those 28 starts Richards has an ERA+ of 136, 3.59 FIP, 9.6 K/9 and 3.6 BB/9. Sign me up.
  10. I really want the Sox to sign Garrett Richards. While he won’t pitch this year, you can get him healthy in your program and have him waiting for 2020, which is ideally the first season of their window of contention being open. Sign him to a one year deal with team options for a second and a third. Pay him $1M in year one, $7M + incentives in year two and $10M + incentives in year three.
  11. I understand that people and organizations are innocent I’ll proven guilty but we need to believe alleged victims when they come forward. Is that a tough balancing act? Absolutely but we need to be fair.
  12. I might be crazy but I think that if he stayed healthy, we’re looking at a top fifteen prospect
  13. The 30 teamer is poppin’ right now. We’ve gone trade crazy.
  14. That's totally fair and another criticism is that the previous drafts before the rebuild have not yielded enough fruit to truly get the pipeline off the ground running. Like how the Cubs had draft Javy Baez the year before Theo came to town
  15. Just looking at the rebuild period, I don't think that we would be having this conversation if it weren't for Jake Burger and his injuries. I think Madrigal is going to turn out to be a good player. I know there's a good amount of people here who are down on him but we have to remember that he played competitive baseball from February to October and suffered a wrist injury during that stretch as well. This upcoming draft is extremely important to the Sox, they need to land a star with his pick.
  16. Fangraphs always post links to job postings from every club and scouting/analytics service on their site because their readers are usually the type of people who are qualified/interested in these kind of jobs. Delete your account
  17. Terrible f***** take. He’s a first round pick and a highly regarded relief prospect. He’s recovering from a major injury and everyone responds to injuries differently. Cutting Burdi would be such a terribly stupid thing to do. He still has a ton of promise and TJS is not a death sentence.
  18. Ibanez, Bannister, Baldelli (if he isn’t hired), and Josh Paul for me.
  19. I just saw Halloween and it was a frustrating experience. I thought the movie was good as a whole but there’s some really bad moments and choices made that stop it from being great. There’s a scene where one of the characters looks directly at the camera and gives their entire backstory. Towards the end of the film, there’s a reveal about one of the characters that’s really cool but it’s almost immediately brushed aside. And there’s a lot of forced comedy. Jamie Lee Curtis is fantastic and it’s a shame that the movie didn’t focus on her more. The movies cuts to a lot of side stuff, a lot of which doesn’t amount to anything in the end. The actress who played the granddaughter was pretty good. I really wish the entire movie had the same amount of tension and atmosphere as the last 20 minutes, which was phenomenal. Ill hold off on spoilerly stuff.
  20. 3 years and $45M ($15M AAV) 2019: $25M 2020: $10M 2021: $10M
