  1. QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Dec 17, 2014 -> 10:28 AM) I know everyone is enthralled with Longoria at the moment, but Rosenthal just tweeted that there is another team involved here. Is it crazy to think that RH could be trying to get Zobrist? He has shown a willingness to get in 3 team trades before and Zobrist would be better than the question mark we have manning the position today. God that is a great call and a move I would absolutely love. Plus Steamer would finally accept and love us!
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 11:15 AM) There are a lot of people who think that Boston may be the best team in the league. I'd have trouble with that thought, but I think it's a talented team either way. Was this after sustaining blunt trauma to the head?
  3. Ya, Abreu is totally going to be a 2.3 WAR player this year
  4. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 08:45 PM) Some damn Cubs fan is trying to tell me Alexei isn't a good hitting SS after I said he is one of the top SS's in the game Lol, Ya those Silver Sluggers don't mean s*** maaaaannnnn
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 01:29 PM) I cheer for the name on the front of the jersey. This. So much this.
  6. Melky's career line at the Cell: .316/.342/.516/.859
  7. I know everyone is really excited about next season and I really hope it shows up in attendance numbers. Let management know that we appreciate them trying to put this organization back on the map. Next season is gonna be a lot of fun, hope to see everyone out there!
  8. So do I buy a split season now or just go with the season ticket? Jesus f*** I am loving this 2015 team already!
  9. Of course team WAR isnt going to like the Sox, their isnt much in terms of defensive value outside Alexei and Eaton and Eaton isn't even looked upon kindly defensively.
  10. I would love to see Morrow brought in on a 1 year contract
  11. That Red Sox rotation is a whole lot of meh
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 10:02 AM) Yep, otherwise I frankly think Porcello for Cespedes isn't a half bad deal. Cespedes does some small things well that really help a team. That .751 OPS that was posted earlier is actually fairly good. I think this is a good move by Detroit to shore up their offense. For context, Adam Eaton had a .763 OPS with 1 HR last season
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 08:54 AM) I think they will go under slot in the 1st round actually. They lose the ability to spend that bonus $$ for the 2nd round selection. Probably somewhere around $1.5 million. I hope that they get the best talent first. Sure, in theory it's nice to have that money later, but I want seriously impact talent with that first pick.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 09:30 AM) Volquez and the Cell seem like a really bad mix, no thanks. This.
  15. Also heard Mully say this this morning. Supposedly there wasn't really legs to the rumor, it was just something that was out there. Would love a shot at Longoria and he's a guy I would definitely give up the farm for, but I just dont see that being realistic. Myers potentially, he was awful last season, but I still wouldnt mind adding him.
  16. Eaton just owned a Cubs fan off the internet. It was amazing.
  17. Made s thread about it already, but I think Parra is a perfect fit for the Sox. We can get by with Flowers and Gillaspie, but i cannot settle for Viciedo any longer in LF.
  18. QUOTE (OsweGo-Go Sox @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 07:40 PM) Why do people get so worked up about #1/#2/#3? After the first week it doesn't matter. Also, I just love hearing Rick Hahn talk. Pretty serious mancrush. He's seriously awesome. The way he speaks commands attention and respect.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 04:10 PM) 5 years 120 million sound ok? I don't mind that price, my only hang up is making sure that Sale and Q are assured they will be taken care of when their contracts are up. If you got those guys locked up with Rodon on the way, that's an excellent rotation for a long time time.
  20. I think Sanchez starts out the year locked in at second and Johnson has time to get more polished in AAA.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 03:25 PM) A couple of interesting stories... Robertson's stuff looked at by Fangraphs http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/david-rober...trange-arsenal/ Also, Robertson releases the ball 14 inches closer to home plate than the average pitcher http://www.si.com/more-sports/2011/04/12/fastballs-trackman For some reason, I always thought Robertson always threw hard. This deal actually makes me feel a lot better that he can fulfill the value of the contract relying on movement and not velocity.
