Joakim Soria's 2017 #'s: 3.70 ERA, 2.23 FIP, 3.08 xFIP, 10.29 K/9, 3.21 BB/9, 0.16 HR/9, 54.8 GB%, 1.7 fWAR Please for the love of god tell me how he had a bad season last year? 10th overall RP in FIP, 15th in xFIP, 1st in HR/9, 23rd in WAR. They got him for NOTHING.

Greg and caufield sure care a lot about the Royals and their fanbase. Soria had great numbers last year, nothing to dislike about this trade. Sox got two solid bullpen pieces for a AAAA player.

I'd offer Hector Rondon a chance to close here with a good spring to entice him

Loooooooove this move. This dude had electric stuff in the Futures Game, I had no clue who he was prior to that and came away impressed. This is exactly the type of move that Rick should be making. Even if you improve his control just a bit, he is instantly a high leverage reliever at the major league level. I can think of no better coaching staff to try and harness his abilities. In a couple years, we will look back fondly on this trade.

I find it very unlikely Adolfo or Clarkin are taken in the Rule 5
