  1. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 01:45 PM) The name of the game this weekend is Pinpoint the Play that finally convinces the FO to Concede. It'll be when they put up a big fat 0 today
  2. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 01:35 PM) Flowers 27645455 passed ball this guy is not a good catcher. Atleast he hits well to offset his defensive ineptitude
  3. He's been a really solid 4th OF, I think he's earning a spot for next year
  4. When does LaRoche get good at baseball again?
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 04:29 PM) Game 2 lineup: Eaton, CF Beckham, 3b Cabrera, LF Abreu, DH LaRoche, 1b Garcia, RF Flowers, C Sanchez, 2b Saladino, SS Danks, P. Beckham batting second. WOOF.
  6. Is there an actual legitimate reason to replace Soto with Bonafacio? I seriously cant think of one
  7. And LaRoche stands no chance against anyone with velocity. Slow motherf***ing bat.
  8. Looking at that one right down the middle Jose?
  9. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 03:21 PM) Tyler seems to be an intelligent hitter They should trade him, he doesnt really fit the organizational model
  10. Ya, I'd much rather watch Saladino than Conor and Beckham for the rest of the season
  11. Bats came ready for the second half
  12. Seby Zavala continuing to rake
  13. Would do this no problem as long as he and Abreu were on good terms
  14. I like the construction of this lineup a lot. I wonder if Robin has given any thought to moving LaRoche up to 2 though.
  15. Per Rosenthal: One rival executive says he expects the White Sox to make a big offer to right-hander Jeff Samardzija in an attempt to keep the team's starting pitching intact long term.
  16. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 02:59 PM) Keith Law put Anderson at #44 on his midseason top 50 Tim Anderson is #44 on Keith Law's top 50 prospects list: 44. Tim Anderson, SS Age: 22 | B/T: R/R | Height: 6-1 | Weight: 185 Currently at: Double-A (Birmingham) It's the Shawon Dunston starter kit: not quite Dunston's arm strength (which might be the best ever for a major league shortstop), but similar range, quickness, bat control, foot speed … and reluctance to take a walk. Anderson came into pro ball with less baseball experience than most players, and he's actually a little more patient already than Dunston ever was, so the comparison isn't totally fair to Anderson. But it does give you a rough idea of what kind of player Anderson can be even if he doesn't make any significant improvements. Oof, Shawon Dunston was not good
  17. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 03:42 PM) I'm guessing that Montas and Saladino will go down Friday night and Albers will return. While you're probably right, I hope you're wrong
  18. So which Royal is wearing one this weekend from Ol' Frankie?
  19. Pretty sure I am heading over there for this. Never been to one before, what kind of format are these events? Q&A or casual meet and greet?

    Jay Bruce

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 05:32 PM) Not saying you are wrong, but I didn't realize Avi stunk this much. Is he this big a disaster or are you exaggerating? I mean, the numbers are there for everyone. He has his lowest ISO, wOBA, SLG%, K%, OPS, etc. of his young career this season and hasn't shown any real signs of improving either offensively or defensively. He still takes awful angles on balls in the OF and has limited range despite being blessed with his "speed".
  21. I know next to nothing about the competition level in the DSL, but Maiker Feliz is making that league his b**** at 17 yo.

    Jay Bruce

QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 13, 2015 -> 02:46 PM) I don't see the point considering we have what appear to be three competent outfielders at this point. Bruce isn't so good that I'd fill what aren't totally gaping holes. I think we'd like to do something about Avi at some point, but you're not going to make a trade this season and bench Avi in his first full year in MLB. While we would like to consider them competent, the best WAR in the outfield is currently Adam Eaton at 0.0. Additionally, not one of them has a wRC+ over 93 or an ISO over 140. You absolutely need power out of your corner positions and our lack of it is a large reason for why the Sox are dead last in offense in the league. If Bruce were on the Sox right now, he would immediately have the best WAR of any position player. I am trying to think big picture here. This team needs to infuse offense while improving it's defense. Bruce is a massive upgrade offensively over Avi and a slightly better defender. Sure, I would love for the Sox to go after Jason Heyward, someone who provides value both offensively and defensively, but I know the Sox wouldnt go anywhere near that type of contract. Bruce seems like the type of move that would make sense, especially if they could find a taker for LaRoche.
