  1. Our corner outfield looks like they are carrying pianos on their backs any time they try fielding the ball
  2. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 07:25 PM) Would love to see Hayward in a sox jersey next year, God knows the team needs the defensem I have the weirdest feeling they will go hard after him after just missing out on him last offseason. I am probably incredibly wrong though.
  3. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) No one is taking Porcello with that contract extension they gave him. That is an awful contract. I laughed uncontrollably when they gave him that contract
  4. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 12:57 PM) Sox fans seem to have little to no sense of what the Sox are trying to do, which is why I made the statement in my column that they have lost credibility with their fan base. As an outside observer, it's hard to find any evidence that the Sox have any sense of what the Sox are trying to do. This 3 year window nonsense from Kenny is comedy fodder everywhere that pays attention to baseball. If they truly believed this was the first year of a World Series competitor, this organization is completely f***ed.
  5. QUOTE (glangon @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 09:12 AM) I agree that the defense has improved but how long is it before we're back to the normal flubs and missed plays. The current defense and in particular both catchers don't inspire at all. Soto is actually having a pretty nice season.
  6. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 21, 2015 -> 06:46 AM) And that's with a .371 BABIP. Hard to be a successful major league hitter when you strike out 32% of the time. Still way too early to jump to any conclusions, but Cubs fans will be heartbroken when they finally realize that not all these prospects will pan out. Every rookie they have brought up this season is hovering around a 30% K rate. Bryant has been able to offset the strikeouts by walking quite a bit, but Russell and Soler are struggling pretty hard. All of their value is currently being provided by their defense.
  7. This doesnt seem right, we are currently in our 3 year competitive window
  8. definitely think Putnam goes though I'd rather see them deal Petricka
  9. Tigers are considering trading Price and Cespedes. Starting to look like Rick might have overplayed his hand waiting so long to trade Shark.
  10. Stephen Piscotty called up for series against the Sox. Strangely enough, the Cardinals outfield is already pretty full but there is some speculation that he may be tried at first. Maybe an audition for his future team?
  11. That 3 year window statement still baffles me
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 10:30 AM) First year of at least being competitive. Well that is looking like a gross miscalculation
  13. With the weekend series in the books and the Sox losers of 4 of the last 5, I think we are going to start seeing movement any day now. Not sure if we want separates threads for any trades, but I figured we should have a centralized area for rumors/trades. Seeing that Houston is prioritizing adding a pitcher and also looking at adding a bat, specifically first base. I wonder if the Astros and the Sox have discussed anything surrounding Samardzija and LaRoche?
  14. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 08:01 PM) Although I am still skeptical of his long-term future as a SS, he seems to have made some significant strides defensively this year even if offensively the same cannot be said. 2014: 81 games, 679.2 innings, 379 chances, 34 errors (.910 FLD%) and 43 DPs. 2015: 84 games, 727.0 innings, 397 chances, 17 errors (.957 FLD%) and 65 DPs. Thank you for these stats, nice to see him improving
  15. I thought he was just mad he couldnt order sbarro's from there
  16. That Birmingham squad is killin
  17. QUOTE (ron883 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 05:15 PM) Is Montas lack of ability to go deep in games a concern at this point? He's never had this type of work load before, they are gradually building him up
  18. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 03:15 PM) Does anybody hit more soft grounders to SS in the league than Avi?
  19. The emergence of Saladino makes Bonafacio and Beckham completely expendable. He is already better than both. Two awful moves made by the Sox FO this season.
  20. Does anybody hit more soft grounders to SS in the league than Avi?
  21. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 02:32 PM) It ain't ovah till it's ovah. But, a fat lady sighting has been reported. She's been belting out tunes since April
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 01:56 PM) So far Duffy hasn't had "shutout" level stuff. The White Sox have gotten some hits, just given things away like Cabrera did last inning. 37 pitches through 3 isn't exactly "sox are going to pound him territory"
  23. So why did they use every reliever not named Montas on Friday when they knew they were going to have a short bullpen after the doubleheader again?
