Serious question, how does a team fix Gio? If the velocity is gone, what does he do to diversify his pitches? He just doesn't miss bats throwing 88-91 and even a good Change isn't fooling batters for long.

I think we end up seeing basically the same roster next season. I don't trust the dopes in charge to re-balance the roster moving a major piece or two, but I also won't be surprised to see a stupid move or two. Really depends on what change if any we see in management or in the FO.

This streak should seal Cairo’s fate as well. The team absolutely quit on him, and he’s shown no better grasp of in game management than TLR or RR. The post-TLR bump was nice but that faded fast too. If TLR is really out, Cairo should be shown the door as well, along with most of the coaching, training, & analytics staff.

I loathe Grandal and want him gone as much as anyone, but it makes no sense to eat his $$ with no viable replacement ready in the wings. Especially with the payroll where it is. We just have to hope he can be a decent part time C (and hope he never ever DH’s).

Yeah a small monetary hit for the chance to be where he wants to be might have serious appeal at this point in his career. He gets $5M regardless and might just want to get as far away from this mess as possible, and honestly who could blame him.
