Agree. Good pay day for Edman, but it seems like a massive overpay.

A cap won't make cheap asses like Jerry spend with the Dodgers and Yankees of baseball, and a floor only requires him to spend the bare minimum. So long as he gets to bank free money from revenue sharing with no requirement to spend it on baseball operations or player salaries, little would change. Stopping the richest teams from spending won't stop the billionaires at the other end of the spectrum from choosing not to spend.

And then what happened? And what happened when he faced a team for a second time? And what will happen when teams get more tape on him and can game plan for his subpar pitch repertoire?

Assuming Venable is better than Pedro, which isn't a stretch, you're probably right. But if anyone could put a worse team on the field than 2024, its Chris Getz.

A pitching prospect with more than a good Change Up with no velocity to change off of?

Didn't we say the same thing about Cease?

Getz might just be dumb enough to think this hypothetical return is a quick fix short cut to being decent again. We can never underestimate the stupidity of a Reinsdorf front office.

Cool, so Getz will cave in February and give away Robert for pennies on the dollar like he did Cease. All because cheap-ass Jerry is hellbent on shedding any large or longterm payroll commitments.

Getz best not get any ideas...

Now do Vaughn...

The former International Amphitheater grounds feel more fitting, with the smell of melting pig fat wafting in the air from up the block.

Admitting a mistake and moving on?

Totally agree. Small venue and there's not a hell of a lot to do in the vicinity. Better than nothing, but a far cry from Soxfests of the past.

Hosting a downsized version of Soxfest there gives me visions of Hahn's infamous Reggie's chat. Better optics than canceling again, but this definitely feels like them limiting public scrutiny from fans.

That would be a first. And what a blessed day that would be.

If they keep Sale, there isn't a real path to acquire Cease. Rodon didn't become this version until after being non-tendered. Crochet might not even be in the org as well.

With an owner even more risk averse and reluctant to spend.

Someone's head had to roll after another postseason flop.

It's hard for me to put much stock in winter league numbers, especially after the season Abreu had. I wish Pito the best, but I'd be leery of giving him a Major League deal.

What are the chances CHSN offers a radio feed audio option with the streaming app? MLB.tv spoiled me and I'm 100% not paying extra for Schriff to insult my intelligence on a nightly basis.

Is that the kind of site that you pay to not see? Cuz...

Jerry's not the Boogeyman, it's Related! They made him do it!!

I won't believe he's not returning until he signs a major league deal somewhere else.
