  1. Thank You. Yes, TA was horrible last year, there is no argument. But putting him on a greatest failure list is pretty ridiculous. If anything he is one of the Sox greatest success stories of this era. His fall from grace was as ugly as possible, but that should not outshine the peaks of his success.
  2. Moncada, Eloy, Kopech, & Grandal. All of the ills with this org start and stop with JR, but addressing only the failures in uniform, these four reached the highest peaks of disappointment.
  3. If Mena turns into anything special, it's a big loss for Getz. There's certainly reason to have doubts about Mena's FB and the trade could turn out to be a wash, but I do think there is more potential in it biting the Sox in the ass than for AZ.
  4. I'll really be surpassed if Pedro doesn't give him the bulk of the starts, until age catches up with him.
  5. Someone hasn't met a hill they weren't willing to die on...
  6. It is probably an overpay, but for a club like the Royals it's worth it. He'll be the face of the franchise for the next decade, their regular All Star, and the one guy that they can market.
  7. The LH OF's always seemed like the sticking point to me. Elias was only interested in selling high on prospects that didn't fit into their plans.
  8. 1.Benny 2. Robert (?) 3. Eloy (?) 4. Vaughn (?) 5. Moncada (?) 6. Fletcher/Deloach/Pillar (?) 7. Dejong 8. Maldonado 9. Lopez ??? How the f*** is this team going to score runs?
  9. That's what I was alluding to. And that's an easy no without question.
  10. Lets hope. His deal looks atrocious now, and his bat needs to make up for his regression in the field.
  11. Probably the latter. I haven't seen anything specific about their offers for Cease, other than hints that they weren't still in active discussions when the Burnes deal went down.
  12. Exactly. He's #1 on my s%*# list of guys who I see regressing further. If Fletcher or Deloach struggle in the field, Robert is back to covering far too much ground, which isn't exactly a recipe for keeping him healthy. Moncada is no lock to stay healthy either and Vaughn and Maldonado are hardly Gold Glovers. So we are banking on Lopez and Dejong to vastly improve the whole defense? I don't see it. Perhaps a slight improvement, but not significant enough to save them from 100+ losses again.
  13. I honestly don't think the defense will make that much of a difference in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps a slight improvement, but not significant enough to make up for what might be the worst hitting team in the league. I also don't have much faith that the scrap heap pitching staff is any better than last year, even if Cease is in 2022 form. I'm not trying to sound super negative, but it's hard for me to squint and see any improvement.
  14. 110 might be a slight exaggeration but I do think they are much worse. For all the talk of improving the defense, they've added nothing to an already terrible offense. 2024 might not be as laughable as 2023, but I don't know how this squad will score runs.
  15. If this list is headlined by Lance Lynn of all people, you know it is not to be taken seriously…
  16. If it were, we probably wouldn’t be hearing that Getz is insistent on getting pitching in return for Cease. Quantity =|= quality.
  17. I’d like a great many more things if this were true.
  18. It’s really hard to squint and see 25, let alone 40+. Add in Vaughn’s subpar bat at a power position and the lack of power becomes more alarming.
