Sox looking at building in South Loop
The issue with JR selling while he is alive, as he has stated himself, is the gigantic tax hit he'd take from capital gains (roughly 200 million on a sale worth two billion) and the Illinois state tax.

Hard to tell right now with all the conflicting stories, won't know for sure until a definite proposal is put down on paper but you can rest assured of one thing, JR wants as big of a handout as he can possible get and he wants to spend as little or none of his own money. That's the way he operates.

That's fine I'd never dispute your right to enjoy what you will. (even if with the Sox it's mediocrity defined!) ?

Tim Anderson signs with MIA, 1Y/5M
It won't be for two years assuming he stays with Miami since the Sox go there this season.

Since 2007, 11 losing seasons, five winning ones and a .500 season. Three playoff appearances. Playoff record in those three appearances is 3-8. Seven playoff appearances in the past 43 years, among the worst in baseball Knock yourself out enjoying this sir! ?

The tweet said they hope he can begin a throwing program around the end of spring training. Ergo that means he won't be ready for opening day will he? All I hate is consistent losing, and incompetent, dysfunctional and inept ownership and the front office.

Because he's a rule 5, given his injury that probably means the Sox are stuck with him, can't see any reason Boston would want him back if the Sox offered which is permissible for rule 5 picks. Looks like someone on the Sox "vaunted" (LOL) medical, training and conditioning staffs missed another one when advising Getz on him since I assume Getz wanted some info before making the selection.

Never said it was or wasn't simply pointing out to the poster that wrote that they hadn't seen any negative comments from politicians.

In a link to a story I posted yesterday there were at least three state legislators who were quoted as basically saying the Sox can kiss their rear end if they think they are going to get votes from them allowing this.

JR won't be able to do anything since he will no longer be physically present.

Sox looking at building in South Loop
The so-called "hatred" is because for the vast majority of time this franchise has been around (save for the Golden Era 1951-1967) this team has had excuse after excuse after excuse as to why they can't consistently compete let alone win. Like Jack McDowell once said the reason the Sox can't win is because they have had bad owners, bad General Managers bad managers and bad players. Many Sox fans alive today haven't even had the pleasure of a long consistent stretch of good baseball, the last era was probably 2000-2006. If they are angry, upset, sarcastic...can you really blame them?

I love the White Sox team this year! I'm excited to be a fan of it.
I said on a podcast that I was a guest on that I thought they'd lose around 95 games this season.

The team will be sold regardless if this stadium is built or not, JR has made it clear publicly on rare occasions when he speaks about this. He has told his family when he goes, "Sell the Sox, keep the Bulls."

To me there's no such thing as a better looking loss. A loss is a loss is a loss.
