Do the White Sox have too much starting pitching?
Glad you are doing well but you also weren't using that shoulder to try to throw a ball 95 MPH I'll wager.

Yonder DFA'd
Yesterday Jim Margalus answered a question of mine about this entire farce situation, here is what he said: "In this case, I think Alonso is more the case of coming up short on an NBA-style recruitment strategy over pro scouting issues. I don't think they'd have had any interest in Alonso without Machado ties." "That said, they painted themselves into a corner by having to pretend it was for baseball reasons, because it looks no different from so many moves made with earnest intent to solve roster issues that flopped hard."

White Sox vs Twins 3:12 PM Nova vs Pineda
There is no comparison. Regarding Fulmer, he's a very draft pick pick who has done NOTHING but I understand why the Sox keep giving him chances...because they decided to draft him in the first place in that position. However I think he's out of options now (someone please help correct me if I'm wrong). I suggest sometime this off season perhaps on a busy sports news day (so it will get lost in the shuffle) the Sox are going to flat out cut him.

White Sox vs Twins 3:12 PM Nova vs Pineda
Well...that wasn't any fun today. Nova is flat out bad like most of the other off season acquisitions. AND he's even worse at home if you look at his numbers. Bullpen also sucked. The lowest ERA of all the pitchers used today is 5.3...words fail me. The good news? To the best of my knowledge nobody else got hurt and is out for the season.

The $$$$ will be spent!
According to a story in the Sun-Times today Hahn yesterday defending the Sox training and medical staff (which implies a reporter must have asked about it. It also reminded me of Kenny doing the same to the media after the carnage of 2000-2001) but he also said the Sox have to keep "an open mind" about trying to keep players healthy. Typical Hahn "cover all the bases" talk but I appreciated him at least acknowledging in an indirect way, there may be a problem somewhere the Sox are missing that could be a factor.

Tribune Now Has Sox Beat Writer...
By my count I think it is up to eight. Maybe someone can correct me: Rodon, Lambert, Dunning, Burr, Adolfo, Jones, Kopech, Burdi. Now add in guys who ALWAYS seem to be hurt Basabe and Burger immediately come to mind, throw in Covey and Banuelos and it is now an epidemic.

It has reached beyond the law of averages in my opinion. SOMETHING is wrong, something is being missed or not done and it is having an impact. They need to do a complete thorough examination of everything from the doctors to the trainers to the physical therapists to the off season conditioning program to nutrition, the entire gamut and especially in my opinion the staffs at the minor league affiliates including the manager and coaches. If someone on the staff is offended by doing this I quote the great philosopher Ozzie Guillen, "F*** feelings, it's about winning."

White Sox vs Twins 7:10 PM CT Detwiler vs Berrios
My God above. THIS is a Major Leaguer? Even Engle hit better than that and could catch the ball.

Andrew Vaughn Signs
I thought I saw a tweet where he's expected to wind up in Arizona in a week or so.

White Sox vs Twins 7:10 PM CT Detwiler vs Berrios
On a really, really bad day Detwiler stepped up and gave them a shot in the arm. Herrera meanwhile looks likes he's completely lost it. Another "brilliant" find for Hahn and the pro scouting section of the organization. And I know Palka got off to that embarrassing start but is he really hitting .026? Is that correct or did the box score get it wrong?

Hamilton done for season
Surprised there weren't any netting or railings in the dugout.

Tribune Now Has Sox Beat Writer...
I've written for newspapers in the past and strung for ones like in Sacramento and Phoenix but I've got a nice job out here in Idaho doing what I love and we only have five more years to pay on the house. Nice thought though.

Hamilton done for season
I didn't know Hansen was hurt again (unless you mean mentally) Burger would be a better pick I guess because he's hurt his heal.

All you can do is laugh right now.

Hamilton done for season
The baseball gods continue to shit all over this organization.

Jake Burger Thread
Thanks. OK then, we'll see when if ever this guy gets on the field to start playing.

I think the Sox can get Quintana back
Even though they had to pay tax money last year along with the Yankees and Red Sox that didn't stop them from getting Kimbral and who knows who at the deadline. They may have changed their minds regarding it in an effort to win another series title.

No it isn't but it says a lot about their commitment to good journalism doesn't it?

Tribune Now Has Sox Beat Writer...
Just announced they have hired LaMond Pope as the new beat writer. I guess they feel the Sox are relevant again either that or their financial situation is better. Remember when they dropped a full time Sox beat writer they claimed it was because of finances. (Personally I don't believe that for a second as Feder reported when they were saying this they were giving bonuses to the big-wig's and higher-up's in the company) Either way it is a smart move and about damn time.

Yonder DFA'd
Jim Margalus has a very good story today on the entire Alonso "experience" at his Sox Machine site. Recommended reading. Reading it made me wonder if the Sox have made any changes to the folks in the Pro Scouting Department given their poor record the past several seasons.

McCann finalist for catcher for ASG
The All-Star farce is and has been nothing but a popularity contest for decades now, I basically stopped watching it in the mid-80's when it was clear fans had no idea what they were doing and were being allowed to vote multiple times.

SSS tonight is tweeting this move should have been made at worst when Collins was brought up.

Jimmy Lambert
Agree it's a bad situation. The late Ed Herrmann told me he was the head coach for the top 14 year old team in the nation in the San Diego area. They played about 140 games year round because of the weather. That's absolutely insane. The only good thing was that as a former Major League catcher Ed knew what the hell he was doing.

Anderson leaves game with apparent injury
Hahn said a few times over the winter that he expected him to be back on the field around June 1st. I assume that hasn't happened yet.

Yonder DFA'd
Maybe he winds up with Manny and the Padres????? ? And look I get those who are saying, screw it, let him go now, event be damned...we need somebody to help this weekend. Again I understand completely. But I'm also suggesting that given it is three games in a season where the Sox aren't going anywhere and won't even have a winning record does it REALLY make a difference? Weighing that against the fact that while he was terrible why embarrass the guy needlessly before his big event...Monday wouldn't do? AND given the fact that the media in many cases LOVES to hammer the Sox at every chance, why open the door for them? To say nothing about how this may all play out in the future with other potential free agents / acquisitions. It could generate a lot of bad play. Understand it many not at all...who knows for sure. I hope the Sox considered all these things before making their decision. That being said he needed to be let go and it is another black mark against Hahn and the people advising him in the organization who scout Major League players.
