These are SF (sacrifice hits) and obviously not SF. So that would exclude bunting for a base hit. I used AL only since NL are skewed. Not sure where you got your info that "The rest of baseball is now aware of this and have stopped." Only Oakland and Detroit have no SF this season. Cleveland has 9 already.

Maybe I am missing something . I agree with the premise on bunting but where did you get the info on bolded section. Looking at AL stats only, the White Sox are tied for 6th and finished 5th last year. Now maybe we try and fail more but I doubt it. I know Francona is a big believer in bunting and Cleveland usually leads the AL.

We signed him 14 years ago. Maybe he wanted to retire as a White Sox.

Sox vs Indians 12:10 CST Banuelos vs Carrasco

I think I think every situation is different. Living in New England , i saw the Red Sox promote Benintendi and Moncada at the same time from AA a few years ago. One flourished and the other sunk. Now 3 years later, hopefully Moncada has adjusted. Benintendi has been pretty solid since he arrived. -
How did you come to that conclusion. Avi has 13 RBI in 119 AB. Cordell alone in RF has 9 RBI in 60 ABS. Are you thinking AVI's defense would win at least 3 games.
-
Lineup aside, we won 2 out of 3 against the Indians on the road. That is at least a positive.
-
Why wait that long? Set the Top 5 and let Eloy hit 6th when he returns.
-
Because there are 15 teams in the AL and only 5 have records better than .500
-
So Leury-Moncada-Anderson-Abreu-McCann and RR still can put the other 4 names in the spittoon and draw them.
-
Well Moncada has been bouncing up and down in the order based on LH/RH but unfortunately his LH batting has dropped more than his RH. But last night he is back in the 2nd spot and had his best game in 2 weeks. So he got promoted to the leadoff spot I guess.

I believe his knees went.

Latest deck shuffling: Jones to 60 day IL; Burr reinstated; Tilson Up
SCCWS replied to bmags's topic in Pale Hose Talk
What is healthy? Both have a history of injuries so healthy probably means a full season which won't happen this year. So you either give them away( Jones) or you hold on and hope next July Rodon has some value. -
The way he has been hitting, he should walk more because teams my pitch around him.

You forgot the 28 walks we gave them -
Why do we subject ourselves to this? 5/5 Gamethread vs Sawx
SCCWS replied to Jack Parkman's topic in 2019 Season in Review
Probably not which is why they are below .500. They will most likely turn it around but they have had terrible starting pitching and their bullpen is suspect. In the only close game we took advantage of that bullpen. Their starters had a good series but they also got run support. They also received 28 walks in 4 games. Our AAA staff needs to work on that aspect................ -

Remember this is tickets sold not actual attendance. MLB no show rate is about 20% https://www.latimes.com/la-sp-attendance-082305-story.html

How about we flip Paxson and Hahn. That could change the culture and neither could do much worse.
-
In fairness, their numbers are inflated to begin with. But both are free-falling so let's hope their averages level off in the .280+ range.
-
To get to 15 WAR, each would have to average 3. Wheeler Gio and Lopez combined for their career would not even be a 2 WAR per year. Now Wheeler had a good year last year but he has been up and down. I think if those 5 combined for 8-10 WAR that would be a giant leap and everything would have to fall into place. For example, Rodon for his carer is not even a 2 WAR.

May 3rd | Sawx @ Sox | 7:10pm CT | Sale vs ReyLo
SCCWS replied to Tnetennba's topic in 2019 Season in Review
Actually Sale had 2 good starts before this but no run support. I guess he made sure he didn't need much run support this time. -

But he still only has 30 k's so far. Amazing turnaround from last year. -
And that's a 2nd straight White Sox Walk Off Winner !!

Good job by the bullpen in the late innings. Our offense continues to score runs but I wish we would get a few walks. Seems like opponents draw a lot more walks than we do. Love the 9th inning heroics. -
FWIW--Dennis Eckersley is doing the color for the game in Boston. He said Gio has an outstanding change-up and an awful curveball.
