I think you supported my thought. Chris Sale leaves Chicago, his only team, and goes to Boston. Boston makes that trade because they feel they will keep Sale when his contract runs out in a few years. Sale loves Boston and now they extend him. Hopefully we can gamble on some FA or trade for a player and make the White Sox a place where guys want to stay.

Keuchel signing a 1 year deal would not help us at this stage. Better we didn't get involved. But the organization needs to start to change their mindset as well. When the Sox are ready to be a contender, they do need to take some chances on players w limited contracts w the goal to convince them to re-sign. I agree w those who said that Keuchel probably never considered the Sox. That t has to change in the next few years. This FO has to change the perception as the winning increses. It is how good teams keep rolling along year after year.

Maybe Hahn should find the guy in the Twins org. who is finding this talent and hire him.

HUH??? Kimbrel saved 2 of the 3 wins against Yamkees in ALDS. He closed 3 of their 4 wins in ALCS against Houston and pitched in 4 of 5 wins against Dodgers. Only gave in WS he didn't close was the one Chris Sale did. Kimbrel had a very mediocre late August and September last year. But he was heavily used in postseason and had 6 saves in the 3 series.

No. Maybe the FO has told RR that he should leave in Gio, Lopez and maybe even Covey as Taylor said. Then again, maybe the FO lets RR make his own decisions on a game to game basis and I agree he should have pulled him sooner. Everyone assume the managers makes these decisions but that is not the case in some organizations.

Boston struggles to produce pitching which is really what we need. Maybe there is a live arm in their system. Otherwise, try and find the best OF prospect they have.

They are using the new approach where the closer comes in for the 7th, 8th or 9th depending on the situation. last night he came in for the 8th and then the pen blew the 9th. Maybe we cantake advantage of DD in a trade for Colome

Not that many pitchers skip AAA. Cease only has 5 starts in AAA and only had 3 in AA. Regardless of the contract, I think it makes sense they give him 15 or so starts in AAA rather than rush him up.

The Sox had 16 k's today and every starter had at least 1. The offense caught an early flight out.

One factor is the position itself. Fans have thrown around Eloy and Collins as possible IB candidates in the near future. If Hahn is thinking that, then an Abreu extension could block that.I think Hahn has to make a decision as to where he sees Eloy and Collins first and then make a decision on Abreu. He is having a good year so maybe now is the time to get something of value in return.

Houston had 6 years below .500 before they bounced back. This most likely will be the Sox 6th year below .500. So Houston was smarter and started their rebuild faster than we did.

I would hope he is much better than Holt. Holt is an average hitter w below average power, average runner and average glove who can play inf and some outfield. A real utility guy. Holt is Leury. I hope Madrigal is a major step up.

My guess is that the Cubs will hold off till closer to the deadline. Relievers are so up and down that teams needing help tend to wait as long as they can. Now Colome has been pretty consistent both last year and so far this season so he may not be as erratic as some.
