  1. It is because they play half their games indoors...............
  2. !00% agree. Last time I got a ball was in Tampa and I gave it to the closest kid. Every kid dies to get a ball. As an adult, I could care less except maybe if it was at a World Series.
  3. True but we also will most likely have a couple more high draft picks by then. We could also have an elite infielder behind Moncada-Anderson-Madrigal.
  4. He is still a work in progress. But this year he has shown the ability to hit LH pitching with a small sample. He was red hot hitting out of the 2nd spot. Why take the chance that he might be affected by the change. He has shown in the past to maybe'think too much" in the batters box.
  5. Agree but Red Sox traded to get Sale. When the Sox become competitive again, they can always trade for an ace if none of our young prospects become one.
  6. Maybe. But since he is hitting 60 points higher facing lefties, that would make no sense.
  7. Unless they go get one like Cubs, Astros, Red Sox did.
  8. Can RR please put him back in the 2 spot. Probably a coincidence, but he has struggled in the 5.
  9. I have been to Fenway numerous times. They always draw well so their staffing is set up to handle big crowds. Teams that get variances in crowds usually struggle when attendance jumps up. Boston does a good job of providing plenty of aisle vendors which takes some of the burden off the stands in the concourse. I have yet to see a stadium.though, that has found a way to limit the bathroom lines. But I am sure an app is being developed.
  10. No. Wondering why he was dropped to 5th today. Is RR reacting to a lefty starter or is he moving him down because he wants more production out of the middle of the lineup. Sometimes young players are affected by their position in the batting order.
  11. Moncada has been on a tear. Why start moving him around in the order? Lefty or righty should not matter while he is hot.
  12. 1 BB and 10 k's. Tough day at the plate.
  13. Just my theory. One explanation is his minor league career. He pitched very little in AA and AAA. So when he surfaced in the majors there was probably very limited info on him. As he pitched in the majors teams must have found some weaknesses and he has not been able to make adjustments.
  14. I am also impressed that he has taken on a new position and it has not been a distraction. He is hitting the ball.
  15. Remy said 30-45 minutes and the Sox were doing about 15. He also seemed to indicate it was casual as opposed to structured.
  16. I don't agree. I think fans won't watch if the team is bad. They will watch if they don't think the manager is any good.
  17. I posted several years ago that Jerry Remy, the Boston color announcer, commented about this during a really bad defensive showing by the White Sox in Boston. He said that as a former infielder, he was amazed that the White Sox do a very limited infield practice before road games. He said most teams do an extensive infield practice especially before the first game to get used to the infield nuances. He was surprised since Ventura was a former infielder. Maybe that has changed under RR.
  18. Which isn't that important. The bigger question is does the team?
  19. But if you spend all your day complaining about someone complaining about their wife, that doesn't make sense either.
  20. I saw a quote from baseball person ( can't remember who) recently that said they don't consider someone an MLB prospect until they have had a successful year in AA. Interesting take.
  21. Agree. Some of it is semantics. The White Sox may not have a clear #1 (i.e. Sale) but 3 or 4 solid starters would be great.
  22. Hopefully Lopez has a big year as far as the rebuild. I think Rodon is a solid #2 starter and it would be great if Lopez turns out to be the same. Then in the next couple of years they can find a 1( Kopech?) and a 4 and 5 internally or externally.
