Hell of a start by Dylan. If Gavin starts that game they probably lose. Let's go Cy Chen! Keep em down.

Only 7 non-AL Central Games left in the season after tomorrow. I'm feeling pretty good about September. Even with the Royals struggles this team has done pretty well in the division (a lot better than the last few years) so my confidence is high. If they can take care of Detroit at a 5-2 clip (Hell, I'd even take 4-3) and just split the last 6 with KC, they're gonna win the division I think.

Slumpbuster Gamethread: Orioles vs White Sox
Cali replied to Kyyle23's topic in 2012 Season in Review
Viciedo is gonna crush one from Saunders. Book it. -
Today's result irrelevant. Thank you Royals. And that ball was completely foul. The angle KC had showed it going behind the pole clearly.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) The White Sox and Cubs play one 4-game series next year, 2 games at the Cell, 2 at Wrigley. Back to back?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) There are going to be a lot of 2 game series next season due to the slight realignment and all season interleague schedule Well that's not really a 2 game series, it's a 4 game series split between two cities if that schedule is to be believed. That's something entirely new.

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) http://twitpic.com/and8q7 Somebody leaked the Phillies schedule for next year. Sox go there next July 12-14 right before the All-Star Break. Are my eyes playing tricks or are they scheduled to play a 4 game series vs. Boston with the first two games in Boston and the last two in Philly?

Gotta say those Oriole hats are f***ing sweet. Glad both they and Toronto went retro.

I'm holding on to Flowers, cause I could easily see a situation where some desperate team over pays for AJ after this career year (as much as his clubhouse issues etc.) And the sox don't (and shouldn't) try and match it. But if AJ does resign, if you can find a good trade partner you get what you can for him.

Never really realized this before, but Tim Hudson has really put together a hell of a solid career. Always in double digits in wins, mid-3 ERA. When he was part of the big three in Oakland, I always put him behind Mulder and Zito, and he's proven to have a better career than those two combined and seems to have gotten better since he left.

The Royals are still gonna finish ahead of the Sox according to Greg haha

Oh and by the way it is tough to beat soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam... At least in the 90's

Floyd's short leash from last week is a wake up call. He pitches into the 8th today.

Only 2 off days the rest of the season. s*** is on. Do some work boys.

Carl Crawford, Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Nick Punto to LAD
Cali replied to southsider2k5's topic in The Diamond Club
Not to get all heady and out there, but I think this move flops for the Dodgers... The baseball Gods won't allow it to work. I just can't see a team coming together with one month left. All these new players. It screams desperation without the need for it. They were in first a good chunk of the season with the team they had. Why f*** with that? Scared of the Angels taking over the town? Not happening. The fans hated McCourt and LOVE Magic. They were already coming back. Dumb move. -
After a nights sleep on it, I'm excited. Hell of a comeback that proves this team has fight. Let's face it, if the exact same thing happened to the Tigers, a lot of people here would be fellating them declaring this is when the run starts and crowing them champs.
-
I don't know if I'm more upset or happy. Cause 6 runs in the ninth is kinda unacceptable

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Aug 24, 2012 -> 02:27 PM) Jim Bowden also retweeted this: Blockbuster: red Sox, Dodgers working on deal that would send AGon, Crawford, Beckett and Punto to LA. Hurdles remain, but closing in What the f***?! That's like a video game trade. How could that be approved by the commissioners office? -
I see the Sox going into Detroit 1 game up on them. Would be awesome to leave 4 up. Hopefully they can stay hot against Seattle and Baltimore. Also let's go Angels and Royals!
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) Of course...they are so tough to beat at home. They played pretty awful and still swept the Blue Jays. I swear it seems like they're ALWAYS at home too in this second half. At least the final four with the Sox are in Chicago. But the series before, I don't want to hear any "the team is tired" bull s*** excuses again. The last game in Baltimore is a early afternoon game. Take a f***ing nap on the plane haha

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 23, 2012 -> 10:48 AM) Verlander for sure. They can lose one of the offensive guys, as they partially make it up with much better defense. Plus they still have a dangerous line up. I think Cabrera and Fielder are the only reason that line-up is dangerous. Take one out it's okay take both out it would be downright mediocre. I vote Cabrera if only for the fact that Verlander isn't the 2011 version and is only going to have an impact in what 7 more games this season? No Miggy for weeks at a time would be devastating.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 23, 2012 -> 10:40 AM) Brian Britten @BBritten_Tigers Miguel Cabrera left today's game with right ankle soreness. He is day-to-day. #tigers This brings up a good question... who is the ONE player they can't afford to lose for any significan't time... Verlander, Cabrera, or Fielder?
-
Miggy just left the game. Nothing obvious as to why....
-
He won't. But hopefully he's gonna have MANY years to come in the Cy Young conversation.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 22, 2012 -> 07:39 PM) Awesome series! I love it when this team is clicking. Now if those damn Tigers could start losing. Spent too many damn years looking up at the Twins and asking the same thing. Good to be on top of that scenario. They're running out of games and I love it
