QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 11:32 AM) Yeah, I don't get it. Do they only allow school or work e-mail addresses?? Not everybody has one of those or uses it. I dont understand this. The numbers I have in front of me may not be correct but don't 1000% of all email addresses use one of those domain names? Not everyone goes to school or works at a place that offers an email address. So they want like no new members ever?

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 5, 2012 -> 06:46 PM) Absolutely, and on August 22nd when Colon was busted, I thought Konerko's comments about PEDs was very interesting. He said something along the lines of "people sometimes take things they didn't know could get them in trouble". To me, it raised some red flags and being the pessimist I am, it worried me someone on the Sox could be in trouble. That certainly wouldn't bode well for the final 26 games...

On July 20-22 the Tigers swept the Sox in a three game series. The team records between that sweep and the most recent debacle are as follows: White Sox 22-13 Tigers 17-17 (Oh yeah. Sox respond to getting swept by the Royals in the middle of these series' by going 6-0 including a home sweep of the Yankees for the first time since Bush Sr. was in office.) So far this time around the Sox win 2 of 3 from Minnesota and Detroit loses AT LEAST 2 of 3 to Cleveland... Maybe more.

It's crazy that this would all make complete and perfect sense if true and yet could be 100% bulls*** at the same time. I assume we will find out soon.
-
If true this will be the last time he's ever in a White Sox uniform that's for damn sure.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 4, 2012 -> 10:42 PM) Detroit would handle the Yankees. Actually I amend my statement. Detroit would win maybe win 2. They'd split at Yankeee stadium, split at Comerica and Yankees win at home game 5.
-
Nobody wants it. I honesty think neither Detroit or Chicago will win more than one game in October anyway.
-
I have no doubt this will be the single strangest end to a season in a long damn time... Both these times are schizophrenic beyond belief, you never know which team will show up for any given game/series
-
The AL Central starting to turn into the battle of who wants it less haha I also fully approve of the Rally 'Staches...

If Rienzo pitches for the Sox next year would he be the first ever Brazilian born player in the majors?

Father John Misty's "Fear Fun" making a strong late push for album of the year after a mind blowingly amazing (not to mention also hilarious) live performance.

Gonna be at a music festival all weekend so I'll miss watching these games (probably better for my stress haha) I will be checking my phone insensately however. I wanna see more bunts at Miggy tomorrow. And Liriano needs to stay in command. If they can do that Mr. Weird Eyes can give up some runs. He might strike out 12 but he can give up 3-4 runs too. Frankie just needs to keep everyone else in check and they could tie it up at 1-1.

I might be crazy but wasn't there a different Soxtalk board before the one we know now started up those 10 years ago. I seem to remember having to resign up once this board became official. Also, I must own the ratio for longest time here, least amount of regular posting haha. (that's not including people who disappear for years haha)

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 31, 2012 -> 10:32 AM) Let's not get cocky. What cocky about that? The Sox have been in first place for 100 days this season. Detroit has yet to make that run everyone has predicted, it's just the truth and this point and now it's time for the Sox to take care of business.

Our White Sox vs. Detroit p**** Cats 6:05 CSN
Cali replied to 2nd_city_saint787's topic in 2012 Season in Review
f***. Detroit. -
Yeah the Nats bungled this whole thing. They could have rested him in May, when it looked like they might be able to make a playoff run. This might be a once in a lifetime kind season for Washington. No guarantees they will be anywhere close to this good in 2013 and when you have a bonafied ace at the top of your rotation you let him pitch. If he gets hurt he gets hurt, but I'm willing to guess his arm would feel a lot better with a ring on it... I expect lots of shots of Sad Strasburg sitting on the bench as the Nats get eliminated in the NLDS... Side note, if this team (and Boras) was so concerned with his health, why not try and change his mechanics? That is the bigger issue than his IP.

Sox win 2 of 3. The White Sox are just flat out a better team at this point in the season.

Slumpbusted Gamethread: Orioles vs White Sox
Cali replied to Kyyle23's topic in 2012 Season in Review
LOVE IT. Sox lose 3 of 4 and gain ground on the Tigers. Maybe everyone here can stop blowing them so much now? I've said several times that this Tiger team is just as bas at times than the Sox... I change my mind. They're WORSE. The White Sox are a better team all around. They just are. 2 of 3 this weekend. f*** DETROIT. -
I was so excited for Cincy last time they made the playoffs, always like seeing new teams getting in, then Roy Halladay happened and they were gone in an instant. I hope they have a better showing this year...

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 30, 2012 -> 02:37 PM) Some people don't seem to mind if we lose 3 of 4. I prefer to look at it that we blew a big opportunity to start making Detroit doubt. Detroit will have plenty of confidence again that the Tigers can blow us away this weekend. Tigers blew us away last time with a sweep then went 1-6 while the Sox went 6-1... I think Sox take 2 of 3 this weekend. -
Slumpbusted Gamethread: Orioles vs White Sox

Meh. Outside or various AL Central opponents at various times, the two teams that have dominated the Sox the most over a span of years are Toronto and Baltimore, but especially Baltimore. They play tough on the road or at home, and always seemingly 4-game series. I'm not overly concerned. Even if Detroit wins tonight they still lost 2 of 3 to an inferior Royals team, so both teams come into an important series on a down note. The Sox have proven time and time this season that they respond very well to these types of series losses. I expect this weekend to be no different. -
I thought for sure Kenny would be doing something at the waiver deadline, even something small, but it's looking like this will be the team to fight for the playoffs. Im pumped.

Diving catch to Rob Miggy by Dyson. Two more outs.

Axelrod sent down; Lopez and Gimenez recalled
Cali replied to Mr. Showtime's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Gotta be Lopez. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 29, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) I asked this in the game thread, but did Youk leave with an injury? I assumed Robin just pulled him cause it was 8-1 in the 8th. Just giving him some rest. I could be wrong though.
