That's fine too.

If they land Harper, what about signing Donaldson? That ideas been kicked around.

What are people referring to exactly when they say Bryce Harper doesn't fill a need? I'd love to sign him and at least assure one of the OF spots going forward.

Only thing that sucks about front loading the deals is it gives the player more incentive to opt-out later since he could probably get more. And this deal will have opt outs.

2018 MLB catch all thread
I haven't seen anything suggesting they might rebuild. Link?

There's no talk of the Indians rebuilding. You don't rebuild with 4 good starters and Lindor and Ramirez. That's a good start. They just need to re-tool a bit. Making a few players available to gauge interest to try to improve other areas =/= rebuilding.

Dear FO: Harper VS Machado, Soxtalk Will Help You Decide
I'm saying if you play those 3 and Gardner in the same lineup outside of Hicks.

Dear FO: Harper VS Machado, Soxtalk Will Help You Decide
I've been saying it for a while. Harper doesn't really make sense since they would have no CF playing all 3 (Harper, Stanton, Judge) and Gardner.

I definitely prefer Machado to Harper, but if Machado signs first, I definitely want Harper. Hell, like someone else said if they sign Harper, try to grab Donaldson on a high salary 1 year deal pillow deal.

Your Offseason Plan
I think the Phillies trading one of Franco/Crawford (3B/SS) means they just signed Machado a week or two prior.

Your Offseason Plan
Can we please stop throwing Moncada in CF for the 2019 season when there has been literally nothing to suggest he will be out there (yet)?

Yeah I just saw it on MLBtr, per the Tweet above.

Source? I just don't see why he wouldn't opt out if that were the case. He's 30 and could likely do better (maybe not as high of an AAV but could definitely get about 6 years I would think. Or at the very least, front load it the first 3 years since the luxury tax hit is the AAV anyway.

FA pitchers the Sox could target
We definitely need strides out of Giolito next year.

That's a guy I think the Indians should move to the pen. Their rotation would still be good (assuming no one is traded). Kluber, Carrasco, Bauer, Clevinger, Bieber.

Man, would they get a haul for Kluber. Carrasco should bring back something nice. I personally don't see them getting traded.
