  1. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 07:38 PM) Stfu Asche and sit your salty ass down. So awful. Rebuilding sucks lol Maybe I'm missing something, but why even bother with Asche? I don't really get what they see in him.
  2. Hopefully he comes back strong. He was looking good. With the Padres covering half or so of his salary, if he can be a serviceable 4th starter he could be moved. Probably not much of a return, but at least some payroll being cleared.
  3. Cardinals have said publicly they're concerned about the bullpen. Deep pockets. Decent farm.
  4. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 14, 2017 -> 09:02 PM) Willy has a good swing Been thinking the same thing. Hitterish.
  5. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 05:43 PM) Doesn't matter, 4 K's per 9 isn't going to work at the major league level. Well, it does matter. You'd still like to see him get some punchouts, but it's more acceptable from him than most other guys. I guess the point being for the type of pitcher he is, a 9-1 go/ao ratio is more encouraging to me than his k rate is discouraging.
  6. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 03:16 PM) Only two K's, which isn't going to work. He's a sinkerballer. 9-1 GO/FO
  7. Avi seemed to be in some pain. We'll see next half inning. Maybe I'm seeing things.
  8. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 10:16 AM) Blister was a recurring issue a lot of last year for him. He missed 5 weeks or something. They have depth to fill in for that.
  9. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 7, 2017 -> 03:25 PM) Q won't be bringing back Bellinger Not really the point I was trying to make. They built themselves depth to absorb minor injuries. But regardless, discussion never hurts.
  10. I don't think a blister is going to be the reason they trade Bellinger and others.
  11. If we really want to tank just bring back tank
  12. He might carve out a career as a nice 4th outfielder, which is nothing to scoff at.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 25, 2017 -> 12:57 PM) Amen. Of course you are right. Blowing it up is not the right thing to do for the Sox franchise. There are other ways to rebuild. Like spend spend spend for proven players and make a few smart trades. This reminds me of the old Simpsons episode where the town is digging for treasure that isn't there. Once they realize it isn't there and they need to escape, the winning suggestion is "we'll dig our way out of it!" The parallels are astounding.
  14. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 25, 2017 -> 10:05 AM) No one ever talks about Dunning who was a first round pick last year. Had a nice debut too.
  15. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Mar 25, 2017 -> 08:38 AM) http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/1898047...lito-worth-hype The White Sox seemed to be the obvious winner in the Adam Eaton deal during the winter meetings. Now it seems like many top scouts and MLB writers are questioning the ability of Lucas Giolito. Between this article and the Rodon news, it has not been a good morning for me as a White Sox fan. They wrote this article as though the trade was a 1-1 swap. I agree early results aren't encouraging, but I'm not ready to panic.
  16. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Mar 24, 2017 -> 07:38 AM) I would think that they would just play David Freese at third. Yeah, just as a depth or platoon move though it might be a name for them to consider. Not a deal breaker in a move of this magnitude of course. Like most of us I just want to see something happen and I want meadows more than any of the other names.
  17. Word is Jung Ho Kang was denied a work visa and may have trouble attaining one this season. Maybe they saw some of Delmonico this spring while scouting Q (yesterday especially) and came away impressed. Just a thought if that could be worked into a deal. I assume the Toddfather is out of their price range. (Adding this point was the edit)
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 8, 2017 -> 08:36 AM) I would imagine this is a Rick Renteria deal from his SD days. Possible.... didn't think of that. But depth is never a "bad" thing, and I can't admin they would let someone like Cabrera get in the way of anybody important's development. Seems like a nothing deal.
  19. Per mlbtr http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/01/whit...p;post-id=82131
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jan 7, 2017 -> 01:59 PM) Cameron's comment about Q being the most expensive #4 starter in history. What is he smoking? Terribly off base with that comment. I think he meant the cumulative cost of keeping him until 2020 to act as a 4th starter on a competitive team. Not his single season salary.
  21. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 27, 2016 -> 12:02 AM) You want the 26 year old non prospect who has zero power over the guy who has a plus hit tool and has increased his walk rate moving up the minors? Admittedly I don't know much about Diaz compared to the other guys in the Pirates system as a prospect guy (might be a very good defensive catcher, pitch framer, great arm, etc), but I find the love for him baffling on this site. Not saying would love one over the other, just giving takes on two guys totally independent of each other.
  22. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 26, 2016 -> 11:38 PM) Sincerely, - The guy on the couch
