  1. You've got to give something back to the hitters if eliminating the shift imho, Ray. I have proposed reinstituting the rule initially introduced in 1867 where "the batter is given the privilege of calling for a low or high pitch". I was at lunch with Manfred last week and Rob loved the idea so fingers crossed.
  2. I actually really liked Walker and thought he'd be a low cost doubles machine for us in RF....I really hated that trade when it was made.
  3. 3 in a row and against good teams...great to see.
  4. At this point in the season, any manager of a team that was supposed to compete and that team is 2 games under .500 should be fired just like Joe Maddon and.....hmmm who else??
  5. I'll go with Pollock to bite the hand that once fed him. Since AJ is not in the starting lineup, I will go with Mendick
  6. The Diamondback organization might want to invest in the MLB package to help their scouting in the future.
  7. Physician heal thyself.....and quit.
  8. I'm glad you weren't Rocky's trainer....we wouldn't have made it past Rocky 3....on 2nd thought, where were you??
  9. I just looked at the schedule and damn if this team can get its act together, they could win a shit load of games in July and August
  10. All 3 of them better be in the lineup tomorrow....no excuses.
  11. An 8th inning that worked in our favor....its opposite day.
  12. Wow...just turned on game day at the right time...Engel, Mendick and Burger getting it done.
  13. Because that optimism for the future we had before worked out so well? By the way, I do love the Willie Harris idea.
  14. Yoan turns it around starting with a big game today....I'll go Moncada.
  15. I appreciate you thinking I'm an optimist.....just hopeful I guess...but mostly becoming comfortably numb when it comes to this season's White Sox
  16. More and more this just does not look like the Sox' year. Of course I hope for a 2nd half of dominance like in '83. I also remind myself that Atlanta surged last season after a poor start and won it all (although to be honest I don't convince myself of that one). If I knew LaRussa would be gone if they don't make the postseason I guess I'd be somewhat ok and chalk it up as a lost season. However, I don't think they'll ever fire him a 2nd time so I just have to keep looking for that light at the end of the tunnel.....someone please tell me it's not a train.
