As a team and as a player nothing wrong with being aggressive and taking it to the other team when you can. It can get you the lead, set the tone, and place the other team on the defensive. Stay thirsty my friends...for aggressive winning baseball. I think we will see more of it under TLaR than we did with Rick Rentalria.

This is a hard topic to discuss within the confines of the rules here so I'll pass other than to say I support the move for reasons that should be obvious for at least 52% of Americans.

Ranting about Madrigal's throwing error (which caused TA to come off the base by about a foot) doesn't help Madrigal or the team. In fact it could be counterproductive (as I recall a similar situation became for Steve Sax years ago). The last bounce on the ground ball took Madrigal back toward first and skewed his throw to TA who was moving quickly across the bag. Oh well his throw was off the mark. He was also caught stealing, but that was also a close play. That's part of baseball - close plays and occasional errors. My overall impression from the game though was that the LAA seemed to have an equal or better line-up than our White Sox do, especially without Eloy. I would not be shocked if they swept us or win 3/4, not because the Sox aren't a good team but maybe the Angels are as good or even better. Once TLaR gets to see the relievers over several more games, I think he will adjust how he employs them. In hindsight, perhaps Kopech would have been better in the 8th than Bummer - (edited) and you bring in Liam your Closer to face Trout and the heart of the order even though it is the 8th..

The Angels have a great line-up. I think the Sox would compare to some degree if Eloy was in there. Anyway, the Angels are a tough team to start the season against.

What about Collins? Would it also be silly to not have him hitting against a RH pitcher after the Spring he has had? Again, let's see how this works out and then discuss whether or not it was a decent move and what you would have done. This is going to be a long year here..

Playing the Righty/Lefty match-ups is entirely legit and appropriate, especially considering that Collins has hit RH pitching pretty well. This might work tonight. If it does, will those who criticize the move by TLaR admit they were wrong?

IMO.. Vaughn is short, slow, cannot throw, and has no experience playing left field. He should never be out there. Leury makes sense until Engel retiurns. He has speed., a strong arm, and can track fly balls. When Eloy returns he is the starting LFer. Telling Eloy he is stupid and because of that he is now relegated to DH is the last thing he needs to hear right now. He wants to prove he can play LF and wants to start. Forcing him to do what he doesn't want to do (full time DHing) could have a ripple effect.

I was intoxicated with anticipation about that line-up with Eloy. Now I have sobered up.

Eloy was in a lot better shape and probably weighed 10-20 pounds less when he made that catch. Anyway, if he was in better condition, he my not have sustained that injury. Anyway Eloy is a star player who has a lot of say in terms of where he plays. I bet he will still want to go out there and prove he can handle it.

Lucas is the one pitcher that I think the Sox might pony up for. Probably not, but he looks so solid now....almost a guaranteed Ace for a few years.

Mercedes may have been safe at second but no replay. Nice hit and run though unless it was a straight steal.

Eloy has to get rid of the baby fat and work on his core strength just like Avi Garcia did.after he was injured diving for a ball. Avi came back looking like a different player. A lighter frame allowed him to be faster and more resilient to injury. It would be great if Eloy could make it back for a play-off run if this team can get there without him. That is what Schwarber did a few years ago and it paid off.

Eloy was a clutch hitter and I for one have my doubts that this team could win the WS without him. He is part of the heart and soul of this team along with Abreu, TA Robert and Moncada. We needed them all to get there and one is gone even before the season starts.

Yes....he is significantly slower.

Eloy needs to lose the baby fat and get in better shape like Avi Garcia did. After Avi got injured he came back and proved he could be a decent outfielder.
