July 14, 20205 yr A little surprised no Thompson or Dalquist on the taxi squad. Also no Palka, so the rumors about his days being done with the Sox all but confirmed. Is a guy like Palka still owned by the sox, or can he sign with someone else? Really sucks if he's basically stuck in an org that has no plans to use him.

They would have been in short season anyway I think. Probably just play them in fall and winter.

He's not a FA, so he is still with the organization. We have no clue what this season holds, If someone goes down for the season or multiple guys get sick, he may still have a shot at being promoted to the pool of players as the season goes on.

He can't get promoted or activated unless he's on the Taxi squad roster. He currently isn't, right?

July 15, 20205 yr Author Kinda shocked there is no Gavin Sheets on this taxi squad roster just purely for the development purposes, I know there isn’t really any room for him on the roster with Abreu, Encarnacion, Collins and Grandal all ahead of him for playing time there and Vaughn as the successor at 1B but it would nice to have him get some kind of action to be able to use him as a trade chip down the line.

Yeah it kind of sucks and there are some really fringe pitchers getting spots right now. I guess he could be added later, but it seems somewhat doubtful at this point.

Taxi squad roster doesn't mean he would 100% play at the MLB level. What kind of action would he get this year that would improve his value as a trade chip?

July 15, 20205 yr (670 The Score) White Sox and Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf is facing financial losses that "are in the nine figures" combined across his two franchises amid the coronavirus pandemic, he told USA Today in a story that published Wednesday. Most of that financial loss will come on the baseball side, with the season shortened to 60 games without fans in the stands.

Owners make a crapton (it's an industry term) of money all the time. (two quotes from different movies in one sentence)
