August 16, 20205 yr Padres have now lost 2 games on the road with the tying runner (Mateo, don’t look around, just run) cut down at home plate to end the game (plays close enough to be under long replay reviews in both cases.) One Chris Taylor with the rifle in LA, the other late last night in ARIZ. Odds of that transpiring in roughly 20 games, pretty much slim and none. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/padres-vs-d-backs/2020/08/15/630116#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=videos,game=630116 Edited August 16, 20205 yr by caulfield12
August 19, 20205 yr Nothing to see here. Just a third baseman catching a flyball in the right field corner.
August 20, 20205 yr Mariners DFAd dan vogelbach. He has hit 29 Homers last year. This year he hasn't hit the ball well with just 2 homers and like a .100 batting average but he still walked a ton like he always does and has actually improved his K rate so he had almost as many walks as strikeouts. His babip also was under .100 so that should come back up albeit it wasn't just bad luck and he actually did hit the ball badly as his EV and LA shows. Still somebody should pick him up, at least he walks a ton and has some power potential.

Maybe slightly less power, and a few less strikeouts, but pretty similar overall.

August 27, 20205 yr In the last inning today, the Padres were losing 7-3 with 2 outs and nobody on. They won 10-7.
August 27, 20205 yr Phillies and Nationals protesting and sitting out tonight. https://www.philliesnation.com/2020/08/thursdays-phillies-nationals-game-is-reportedly-postponed/ Manfred seemingly wanting the Mets to walk off the field, then come back on later and just play anyway? Leaked video from Mets GM, includes "3 of us, this doesn't leave this room" and phrase "he just doesn't get it".

August 28, 20205 yr Vlad Jr and the Blue Jays are the most over rated player and team in MLB respectively. What a joke. .1 WAR for truffle shuffle dude and the Blue Jays thoroughly mediocre. East coast bias (Toronto counts) is still quite prevalent. Watching MLB network and this shit is so over the top on the Blue Jays.

August 30, 20205 yr I knew the Astros players would fall back to earth, but jesus christ - Jose Altuve is utter garbage this year. George Springer has worse numbers (but still a contributor) and Carlos Correa looks overrated. ?
September 1, 20205 yr The Marlins are calling up Jazz Chisholm. Awesome. This dude has a chance to be a superstar.
September 2, 20205 yr Author With Hayes, how long do we have to wait until we start his trade rumors?
September 3, 20205 yr Vin Scully joined Twitter this week. Here he is reminiscing about a ridiculous curveball that Kershaw threw in ST 2008. Somewhere we had a post or a thread on that pitch.
September 4, 20205 yr Mets are projecting $200M losses which Steve Cohen will cover. A-Rod got out-maneuvered by an inside deal which went for $2.35 B. Mets being a private corp don't really owe any integrity to outsiders like J Lo's buddy. JR's defecit math was remotely in the ballpark.
