Final guesses at the Trade Deadline

Featured Replies

Just over 2 hours to go until the deadline.  Let's hear everyone's guesses.

-Who do the Sox trade for?

-What are the primary pieces dealt?

Beaking: Sox trade Timo Perez for Carl Everett and Little Foot.

  • Are you going to riot and call the front office morons for prospect hoarding in season where you could go 60-0 and lose 2 out of 3 to the 8 seed and go home?

  • Can our trade deadline acquisition be calling up Andrew Vaughn? That would be neat.

we stand pat

Stand pat is what I think.

Stand pat

Lynn for Stiever, Adolfo, Heuer +

Something like that

I'd be fine with that.  Would try to keep Adolfo as I think we ultimately regret that one.  Also if we're weakening our pen moving Heuer, we probably need to find another vet BP arm to bring in on the cheap.

White Sox trade for Alex Cobb for a PTBNL

We all panic they are gonna stand pat, then at the last minute they get Lynn and we all panic at the cost.

Good point.

Lynn for Stiever, Heuer, Adolfo

David Phelps for Collins, Flores

I think Sox deal for Kevin Gausman and give up a guy like Gavin Sheets

David Phelps could be a possibility for a low level guy?

Standing pat is not out of the question, but I think they make at least one trade. No major blockbuster expected.

I'm guessing that they don't make any changes.

Every trading partner wanted Vaughn or Kopech and the Sox don't want to give them up.

We do nothing.

This really feels like the offer on the table.  Twins have offered something that doesn't include Kiriloff or Lewis.  And Yankees something else.

Daniels deciding among the 3.

If I were to bet on anyone I'd go Lynn...

I wouldn't be shocked if it's a different Brewers guy like Adrian Houser/Corbin Burnes

I like pitchers who find celocity after they're drafted and actually get stronger as a pro. Stiever fits that profile.

They will say we tried hard to make a move for a game changing player but fell through last minute

Sox will trade for someone like Archie Bradley and Not Steve Cishek will take full credit even though he was wrong. If they talk to Hahn he will say they were in on several names but ultimately it didn't make sense to forfeit a lot of the future for a very brief present. If they interview KW he will say you wouldn't believe the trade we had on the table. Would have been the biggest trade in history. Jerry was more than willing to take the huge commitment, ultimately ownership on the other side nixed the deal.

Trade deadline would be a snoozer if not for Preller

Anyone on the 90's Indians still in the league?

I think they stand pat. I think there's a group of players they're comfortable moving (Kopech maybe, Stiever, Dunning maybe, Collins, Adolfo, some minor pieces like Sheets) and everyone with an impact player wants someone they don't want to trade (Vaughn, Cease).

He and DiPoto sometimes trade like its fantasy baseball.

Phelps for something like Flores

or

Archie Bradley for something slightly better

Don't think we get a SP
