Finally, the perfect lineup.  That probably means we're gonna lose tonight.

I can live with a loss when you have your consensus best players out there.

    That's your Game 1 lineup.

Who are we going to pinch hit late in the game now that all our best hitters are in the starting lineup? Ricky does it again!

  • I literally said "In my opinion" - maybe I was right and RR got lucky. Maybe I was wrong and there is a reason I'm on my couch and RR is in a dugout. And FWIW, if we weren't having this conversation I

No Nick Cave = ?

I am sure with that starting lineup that it will be a very calm and quiet game thread this evening.  Yes very calm and peaceful :chimp

If we win tonight, the worst we'll do is split this series and the possibility of a sweep will still be alive.

My concern is that the Sox staff will be down to Dylans Axelrod and Covey by Friday. Sox lineup competes well with most squads. Twins lineup is hi stress on the staff.

Is Clayton Richard still hanging around in Schaumburg?  We might need some innings out of him this weekend.

I’m concerned that we’re going to have to rely on James Shields this weekend.

He is, but they already need a couple of 40 man moves for if/when Bummer and Rodon are back.  I can't imagine they will cut ANOTHER guy to make room for anyone else.

I wonder if they do the double catcher lineup with no 3rd during the playoffs. I would hope

Why not bring up Mercedes for a bench role just to be safe?

Excellent point, thanks.  I guess we just roll with who we got.  It sucks to see things like  Gio Gonzalez used like a situational lefty but it is what it is.  I'd rather just use him if we need a long reliever.

Ah Dunning is starting.  I feel oddly confident with him going.

Yeah for better or for worse, I think this is our ride or die roster.  We MIGHT see something else due to injury, but I think this is largely it.

Why, is Javier Vazquez not available?

Actually Javier finished with a much better career, 43.4 WAR vs. 30.7 for Shields.

What's John Danks up to?

Cave Ruth not playing? There's a chance!

Ha, yea, sounds like he's relaxing and has a young kid now with his wife.  Tough injury he had and dude was a gamer about it.  Never complained or did the woe is me shit.  Def was a favorite of mine, less so when he sucked, but still a great Sox.

Ok boys let’s do this!

Right to the glove lol

Right back to Dunning!

Wow if he gets that pitch...

Gimme that corner all night long!

Maybe a cold take but I think we win the division if we win tonight. Obviously not mathematically guaranteed, but I am really confident we win at least one of Gio and DK's starts the next two days, especially facing Maeda, who isn't a lefty but who the sox apparently think is a lefty so they will crush due to placebo effect.

Leaving this series with a 3 game lead and the tie breaker, I think we get it done.

Keep it right there
