What other explanation is there? I’ve never seen a game, let alone a playoff game, cancelled with that type of forecast. Probably cover for a potential Covid case. Otherwise it makes no sense.

Yep they’re saying it’s rain.

MLB.com and the Cubs.com have no mention of the game being postponed... weird.

Its pretty gloomy and windy near Sox Park.  Safe to assume its similar at Wrigley.

Eh, the radar isn't so bad that straight up cancelling makes sense.  Hmmm...

Sure cubs don’t want to chance losing Yu to any type of rain delay

This is true.

The lineup is still not out. Does RR know they have a game in like 2 hours! The holdup must be Eloy.

Yolmer 0-11 lifetime against Fiers.

I'm not exaggerating. I would much rather have Yolmer at DH than Encarnacion. I am so sick of watching him come up to bat as his .165 batting average continues to spiral downward.

I'm somewhat optimistic about the game.  Offense needs to get going right away and score a few runs.  Dunning may be keyed up and a bit wild to start.  I like the bullpen's chances, provided RR doesn't make bad decisions about who and when.

A win today is huge for this team.  Making it to the ALDS with the lack of starting pitching and a couple glaring holes on offense bodes quite well for the future.

We seem pretty evenly matched with Oakland. So we have to play sound baseball today. I love Nicky Two Strikes, but he made at least 4 mistakes yesterday. I don't expect that from him today. But no unforced errors is required today. No extra outs and have to take every base available to us!

I think we have more talent, they have more seasoned veterans.  This game is a coin flip IMO.

Also, Nicky needs to work on fielding grounders at the cut of the grass.  It is consistently a problem for him.  He's a baby, though, he'll get better.

My radar doesn't look particularly bad, and the highest percentage I'm seeing in next 8 hours is 30%...

There is no major rain in the forecast.

Odd to cancel already not looking like rain all day.

Something ain't right there....MLB covering their ass after screwing up Indians game?

Conspiracy theory:  MLB canceled the game because they want to be assured of having at least 1 game played tomorrow.

Still no lineups?

Or they want the game as prime time....

Maybe the Cubs just don't want to play in the windy 50º October chill?  Beats me.

It isn't the Cubs call to postpone a playoff game.

Not sure, but it should be MLBs call in the postseason, and they should have made them play today. Ridiculous call to postpone today.

Ricky has to make way too many decisions today. Need a big start by the offense! LET'S DO THIS

Absurd there's no lineup yet
