There were 2 main assumptions against Yermin which were holding him back:

1) The defense wasn't good enough to play the bat

2) The bat wasn't good enough to play at DH fulltime

If Assumption #2 is wrong, then Assumption #1 no longer matters at all.  He's a DH, and now a DH with emergency versatility, which increases his value.
