If Yermin hits over .400 this season, is he the MVP?

Featured Replies

I know it's difficult for a.DH to win this award, but I think youd have to give it to him.  Plus, hes proven hes an effective pitcher as well.

come on dude

If he plays for another 20 years can he break Barry Bonds's record?

I have no doubt that he is this generations Babe Ruth.

Tony will be hitting him 8th next week just because.  TLR is such a fucking moron.  There's no reason for Yerminator to be hitting later than 4th.

When that happens, he'll definitely get his due.    But will voters this year dismiss it as a flash in the pan?

This definitely seems like a reasonable question and discussion.

He needs to finish above .450 to have a shot.

It's a shame he hasn't had a chance at the ML level until Eloy's injury, though perhaps he needed the time to get to shine at this level.

Still would like to see him catch once a week, adds to his value.

Hot take: outside of some potential future rehab assignment, Yermin is never going to play a minor league game again.

The question is what do the Sox do if Vaughn and Yermin are both doing well when Eloy comes back?

He should still get a chance to play first some games. Just because he missed that one catch last game on a bad throw doesn't mean he can't play first.

No.

Sin City strikes again

Will be a tough decision between him and Eloy who'll hit .750 with 30 homers after coming back post trade deadline.

Did you ever consider that maybe you're the moron?

We scored 9 runs and had 16 hits. Can't fault TLR for the results.

Let’s keep this discussion realistic.

If Mercedes is real then you have to consider moving Vaughn or Jimenez as you will not get commensurate value for Yermin compared to his value on this team.

Vaughn + should be able to bring back Marquez if the rotation is struggling.

Jimenez could bring back Marte from the snakes.

Going into the future

Anderson - SS
Marte# - RF
Robert - CF
Abreu - 1B
Moncada# - 3B
Mercedes - DH
Grandal# - C
Vaughn - LF
Madrigal - 2B

or

Anderson - SS
Eaton* - RF
Robert - CF
Abreu - 1B
Moncada# - 3B
JImenez - LF
Mercedes - DH
Grandal# - C
Madrigal - 2B

with a rotation of

Giolito
Rodon*
Marquez
Keuchel*
Lynn

Slow play it or work a rotation between the 3 of them. If Yermin and Vaughn are both playing well, that should buy Eloy some extra recovery time to come back fully healthy.

When*

Fernando Tatis Jr will win AL MVP.

Yes, if he hits. 400 with some power he probably is the mvp but chances for this are extremely slim, there is a reason nobody has done it for like 80 years or so

If he hits .400 and achieves world peace
