Nothing against @South Side Hit Men, but shouldn’t someone else be starting this thread given we lost game 1?  Not sure if double-headers have special rules, but I wouldn’t temp the baseball gods afte

  • Yeah, typically, once the Sox lose, your GT starting duties are over, for some period of time.   That being said, seeing that lineup, I’m not sure anyone else would voluntarily start the GT,

Lineup construction is overrated until you bat someone with a career .280 OBP vs RHP in the 2nd spot. Put terrible hitters in prominent lineup positions and the game will find them.

Bummer being back is tremendous.  Makes the bullpen dominos fall so much better.

I’m way late to the party.  I was watching my son play baseball.  What the hell was Dozier doing in the first game and what is the prognosis for Abreu?

No concussion after initial test.  Facial contusion & laceration and a bruised knee.

No concussion, nothing severe. Will maybe miss the weekend, at worst

Thanks.  Watched the replay of it.  Get your head up Dozier.

I loved Bob Howry for this reason...if you were at Soxfest and didn't get a Howry autograph you didnt want one...he would wander around and sign for all.  Very nice guy.

I can't think of a good bummer comp but he's sick.

Damaso Marte...

Can't believe this guy is still pitching, like 20 years after his prime.

It's nitpicking, but the Sox haven't hit well vs bullpens this year. This offense should be teeing off on mediocre pitchers like Ervin Santana.

Ervin Santana was a rookie in 05 IIRC.

He's Zack Britton 2.0. Hopefully with the same longevity.

He definitely didn’t have a 2.40 ERA for the Sox...and got a higher salary.

Great, Leury/TLR love fest will now continue on for at least another month.

Another way to look at it is the Sox haven't won a World Series since Santana was a rookie...that's a long time ?

2005 ALCS...the only pitcher we lost to, former Royal Paul Byrd over The Count.

Ugly AB

Damn that should've been walk #3 for Moncada.

Have only made two playoffs, lol.  Committed to Excellence.  The Will to Win, etc.

In comes Hendriks.

Now you've made me sad by pointing out the truth.

Hendriks in yet again...1 walk and 26 k’s in 15.33 ip.

But four homers allowed, and 13 hits is a bit high, too.
