Cesar Hernandez is way way way better than Leury Garcia. Whatever idiot said they're pretty similar should ban himself.

That would be fine if that is what Tony was doing across the roster. Yoan, with an injured shoulder, hasn’t had an inning off since July 9th. Tim hasn’t had a non DH day off since late May.

Nothing better than demoralizing the Twins, in their place.

It could be better...we could see the demoralizing look on that dork Donaldson's face if he wasnt hurt.

Close, but this one is higher on the 'awesome' scale, simply because we got our CFer back.

That guy can fck right off, for sure.

Another great game for the boys. Get those bats hot.

Basically we all saw the team we envisioned early in ST.

There was an article on MLB.com about this exact topic earlier in the season. Apparently, Moncada's secret sauce to high BABIPing is avoiding weak contact at a higher clip than any hitter in baseball

https://www.mlb.com/news/yoan-moncada-near-top-of-all-time-babip-leaderboard

This is an awesome article. Thanks for posting. I hope Steve Stone reads it.

Yoan is an unappreciated gem, and the best player the Sox acquired when they sold off everything. He plays nearly every game on the White Sox schedule (over 86%) after being called up as a 22 year old (488 games played, 77 games did not play), even though he a severe case of COVID and is called "soft" or a "baby". Steve Stone rips on him, despite the fact he is the best player on the team during his tenure.

White Sox fWAR leaders 2017-2021 (4 + White Sox fWAR) (Moncada wasn't called up until after the ASG in 2017)

  1. Yoan Moncada 13.4
  2. Jose Abreu 11.6
  3. Tim Anderson 10.6
  4. Lucas Giolito 9.8
  5. Carlos Rodon 6.6
  6. Yolmer Sanchez 5.2
  7. Reynaldo Lopez 4.8
  8. Avisail Garcia 4.2

So Yoan’s home run was perfectly fine because the count was 2-0 and not 3-0?

Or because it was a pitcher?

So what’s Eloys OPS over the 2 games?

6 for 8 with 4 home runs 10 RBI 1 double and 1 walk. Whatever that equates to… 4.620?

We would have scored 13 if Vaughn was in the lineup

I think it's safe to say TA can pull the ball again

It started with going to RF to get himself out of the funk he was in.  The pulling followed.

And?

When everyone is healthy and playing this team has more than enough offense. That is exactly why Hahn gave up Madrigal. This team needed better defense and one more elite reliever. They have a gold glove 2nd baseman now and an elite 8th inning guy to go with an elite closer. Playoff games come down to pitching and defense and timely hitting. The Sox now have all three.
