  • Sorry for a little rant but..... HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE MATTERS especially for this team

Anyone here actually watching the game? Other than  the double, Dallas was pitching well.    jesus this board sometimes

Rays are activating and starting Archer tomorrow so hopefully we clobber him.

The thought process here HAS to be we are gonna lose this game since DK sucks, so lets do the Sunday lineup a day early and have full squad on sunday vs their subs. Bold move to concede here...and i am not sure i like it.

The only pennant race left for us is the fight for home field advantage in the playoffs.  We need to catch Tampa Bay in order to get that advantage.

We should have our A lineup going all three games this weekend, no excuses.

Give whomever rest days when the team is in Toronto.

It's lIkely that we will never see the A line-up before mid-September unless we lose 3 in a row somewhere along the line  As TLR said even before the start of the season, he manages for Sept-Oct.  I also don't expect starters to go that "extra" inning...like there was no way that Giolito was going out for the 8th in mid-August.

Anderson hasn't had a day off since Thursday, he's gotta get another breather. Two baseball games in a row is really hard on the body.

yeah the wear and tear of turf when you are mostly standing around all the time is too much to endure.

Um...why is TA off again? And yet Hernandez still hasn't had a single day off? Goodness.

Some of these lineup decisions are just plain hard to stomach.

Is Tony just punting all Dallas starts? Hmmmm

Nice surrender lineup

TA was probably banged up from that slide at home last night.

Soxtalk hates today’s lineup, I’m expecting 8 runs today.

I imagine that Tampa plays all their starters only 2 out of 3 games.  You have to love TL's strategy of resting Anderson the day after every great game.

Well those are going to be 8 runs I guess I'm not gonna see then. All the rest of you enjoy the Goodwin, Mendick & Lamb show. You're better fans than me.

Tony is aware the turf isn’t the same as it was in 1995 isn’t he? I don’t mind him resting guys if they are banged up, but this turf excuse......How many players would he go through if he actually managed a team that played on turf?

Another “planned loss” by TLR

no point in watching I guess

Tony is worried about playing 7 straight on turf, so Anderson plays one game and sits and has 5 more to go? So should we expect him to get yet another day off in a few days?

There is more to this. He must be banged up in some way.

Sox with the advantage today. Should be a win.

Tony just said fuck that noise. Odd to be punting a Saturday game.

Doesn't even have the strength to flip his bat after HR's anymore.

Dallas can’t complain about outfield positioning when there are no outfielders playing the outfield.

Doesn’t Tim mostly play on dirt and not turf?

there is that....

Let's see. Watch Dallas Keuchel throw the ball, or Justin Fields throw the ball.

?

I don't get Anderson sitting again either, but he he is certainly not punting this game. All season, hes used the whole roster and expects to win with whoever he puts out there. More often than not, it has worked

Weird what they are doing at catcher.  TLR is so old school which means 1) never have catcher in day game after night game 2) lefty hitter versus righty pitcher....yet Collins sits?   I know this will call in the cascade of COLLINS SUCKS...but he made a couple of game savings stops at catcher in the 10th/11th last night.  He's been on base 6 of his last 11 plate appearances...and honestly Zeby is not good...outside of his one magic game his slash line is .171/.236/.234, he's had 7 passed balls in 24 games started and thrown out 5% of base stealers.   I wonder if Collins is hated in the clubhouse or told TLR that he doesn't like dogs or something.  I honestly hope they send Collins down and let him start at catcher in AAA and then quietly trade him in the off season...their handling of him has been so odd.

I’d rather play the A-team against a team like the Rays and maybe do a Sunday lineup one game each of the next 2 series.
