LaRussa must have a back or a neck issue, He always looks like he is walking carefully so he won’t fall over when heading to the mound.

Because LaRussa doesn’t clear his lineup decisions through them

If Lopez can get through 4 innings allowing 2 runs or fewer then he's done his job, and if the offense can't top that then fuck them.

I don't really know what to make of Vaughn's RISP struggles. I can't find the splits with 2 outs and RISP, but with RISP overall, his strikeout rate is better than in non RISP situations and his pull rate is down significantly as well. It's obvious just from watching he seems to look uncomfortable in these situations, but nothing in the numbers really jumps out that he's doing wrong.

Nobody on: .273 AVG, 10.6% BB, 20.6%K

Runner on 1st only: .313 AVG, 7.7% BB, 24.2%K

RISP: .195 AVG, 6.9% BB, 20.8% K

So no, he doesn't K more, but he walks less and hits far worse.

Crochet is pitching well enough to say the bullpen has 6 guys that can close a game for them.  Offense needs to gain consistency.

That said he has to put Phillips away there.

That was his 8th batter. He doesn't go that far very often.

Ruiz was the right move, yes

I'm just so glad we're carrying 9 guys in the bullpen. Seems like a great idea, when the bench is non-existent.

And like that, phoned this one in.

Velocity was not impressive at all today

Awful pitch

More 2 out runs....what a fantastic idea

no confidence in this game, already looks like one of those games the Sox lose by 4, Lopez nearing 30 pitches

? ?

How many times have we seen the Sox win game 1 of a series and then drop the next 2 post ASB?

so, so frustrating

Thanks again, for punting the series. Definitely not important games, am I right? More important to be the road team in the postseason.

I'm finding it difficult to believe we will win this game.

August 22 and this old asshole is still trying to "get a feel" for what guys he wants in what situations? Fuck outta here

Home field eliminated.

Why wouldn’t you bring in the lefty killer in Tepera there?  Another brilliant game for Tony. These intentional walks are working great.

Our pen sucks and Tampa pen is cruising.......2 out hits

Nice!  Must be nice cheering for a team that can get hits with 2 out and rise.

94 on a high fastball where he's going for the strikeout was scary

You predicted the Sox would lose by 4. I don't think it's fire emoji worthy since they'll likely lose by 6+ runs

It doesn't help we're basically throwing games with the lineups we put out there sometimes in the rubber match. This is pre-TA being banged up too.

How do you throw an 0-2 fastball over the plate

Walking in a straight line is typically not his strength

Joke’s on you, they’re gonna lose by like 8

He’s never going to be a starter.
