Did Thompson just become a minor league FA with the Sox?  Can't recall why he left the org.

Meh, would have liked Stallings.

Kim Ng is doing a great job assembling a solid team on a very tight budget.

Yes, discarded by the White Sox then traded for something useful by another organization

His results finally outproduced his peripherals!

Don't ask me about his peripherals.

it's almost better for him. He's the new JA Happ "get me a lefty that can bank me a 4.5 ERA"

I have come to the conclusion that the only shot at doing something before the lockout hits is trading kimbrel. From chatter through the grapevine, it sounds like the sox arent giving any competitive offers in free agency at all. They really messed up like harold said.

I will never accept cutesy framing like this and it is so offensive to me

Kyle Nicolas is probably more of a reliever prospect at this point, but he would be among the best pitching prospects in the Sox system. That isn't nothing for a backup catcher.

I hate this time of the year.

Like, "at their new AAVs, Seager and Semien would be >50% ($228) of what Texas has spent on payroll over the last 4 years ($410M)"

Still impressive and shows how they will be operating at a considerably higher annual budget and doesn't do the stupid taking the lump sum of the contract as if its paid out today.

and yes we are on the list

I wouldn't expect him to be a backup there. Alfaro sucks.

A lot still out there.

I bet that all those players don’t sign by the end of the day today which means this will go into the lockout.

Isn’t there a full day still? Dec. 1 for the lockout right?

Two full days - it’s 11:59 pm ET on December 1.

It takes time for physicals / other administrative tasks so guys basically need to agree to contracts tonight.

Yeah it was just more believed that deals had to be made today to give time to finalize them before lockout.

I agree with this, and your point highlights how difficult it'll be for the Sox to make meaningful additions via trade without including pieces off the big league roster. That's why it's so important for them to spend in free agency, but alas..
