There’s no way the 1200 players collectively wouldn’t accept this deal. Thank the executive board for their service. They got a good deal. Go play ball!

Symbolically, at least, this creates the impression they were still fighting for more instead of acquiescence.

What percentage of the 1200 need to vote yes?

Boras and his group. He did say he wanted to wait another week because the owners are giving in. He appears to be right so far.

You're literally quoting what Samson claims about boras involvement when the only person more full of shit than Samson is likely his father.

Me: "It's so close, I feel optimistic!"

Seeing this tweet: "FUCK"

I still think they need to fight for yearly increases in the pre-arb bonus pool, and I think the lawsuits should be allowed to continue. Other than that, I think the owners have a good offer.

Doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen. What a joke

Lol the subcommittee is scherzer and lindor. They're out their protecting Steve Cohen wallet. Honestly fucking amazing.

All 8 are voting no? Lol. Gerrit Cole also on the sub committee.

Mlb was never going to do that. If the demand to pass the cba was the owners opening their books you might as well cancel the season now.

The majority of teams aren't made up of guys like Cole, scherzer and lindor. This shit should still get done.

Guys in the middle and the bottom need the checks and will take the wins they've gotten so far.

MLBPA has been trying to get the owners to open their books since its inception. There is no way in hell they're dropping that lawsuit. None.

I've entered the "Here's how Bernie can still win" stage

I think this passes. Executive committee is disproportionately made up of higher earners or end of career guys.... and somehow Jason Castro.

Oh boy, possible good news on teams going against board

It's just a small last second ask.  Just agree to it!  I want my baseball back!

I get the sense that the WSox voted yes based off Chuck’s earlier tweet

I think accepting the flat pre-arb pool is myopic from the MLBPA, but that's just me.

The board is not a good representative sample of the actual union - so stick it to the top union :)

Maybe they should put less superstars with mega contracts on the executive board. Who couldn’t imagined this series conflict of interest.

My wonder is can you pressure someone to drop a lawsuit by upholding and tying a labor agreement to it. Wonder what the lawyers or judges think on that one.
