For me, I think the answer is hands-down RF.  First & foremost, 2B is generally easier to fill in free agency than corner OF spots.  Second, I think Jose Rodriguez has a much better chance of secu

  • I think Reynolds is a very good player, I just hate paying talent premiums for control. We have a core for now, would ather look for 1-2 year guys or obviously free agency.

Hits with the wrong hand, but McCutchen is now available, can play OF more than half time, and Eaton money would probably be an overpay.

If we grab a big 2B. Id be fine with Cutchy

He was absolutely horrible against RHP

Pretty intrigued with Cutch, walked a ton last year.

He's obviously a guy you need to pair with a LH hitting partner, which we don't have, hence why i suggested he's a poor fit for the roster. That said, he is a veteran, does still hit LHP, and last season did show us the importance of OF depth.

He doesn't hit at all.

He would have been 2nd on the 2021 White Sox in home runs.

but the important question is did he hit a lot of infield popups?

So we should just ignore his weak hitting against righties? And he would not have been 2nd if Eloy and Robert didn't get hurt. I mean he is fine as a last ish resort but we need to aim higher. Unless of course we bring in a very good infielder.

You ignored his > 1.000 OPs against lefties and insisted he “doesn’t hit at all”. If you’re going to be hyperbolic then you can’t get annoyed if people call you out for it.

McCutchen is fine if we get some like Semien at 2B.  Stick him in the bottom third of the order and let him walk ~80 times and hit 20-25 bombs.

If we got Semien wouldn't just playing Vaughn, Sheets, or Engel (dealer's choice) be better than getting someone like calhoun or Mccuthchen? I mean get someon good or stay with what we got.

The 2021 season should have been a lesson on the importance of outfield depth.

Excactly.  You can just rotate them through DH/LF/RF/1B as necessary.  It doesn't need to be an either/or thing.

I'm good passing on Cutch, the power might still be there but he is about to turn 35 and just put in one of his worst offensive seasons.  Younger please

funny referencing eaton money and depth and a 35 year old outfielder

No more old guys years past their prime with no upside.

Sadly, these are exactly the type of guys new White Sox GM Dave Stewart will be pursuing, back by statistics from Shelley Duncan and that Veterinarian guy.

agreed.  If they shipped Engle for something, then I'd be fine with McCuthchen as the LHP platoon

No one is trading for Adam Engel, come on. He'll probably be offered an Arb-2 contract, but after last year it's at least not open-and-shut.

A platoon heavy team like Tampa or Oakland too perhaps.

I thought it was Prince Fielder’s wife but I could be wrong. He did something dirty in Detroit, that’s for sure.
