That's the Jack we all know.

The only part of that post that wasn't sarcastic was the last line. I do think the fanbase should be allowed to vote to force ownership to sell. Then they'd have to be accountable to someone.

  • He’s still great on tv.  He’s absolutely brutal on Twitter.  He’s a yes man and he’s a condescending jackass on social media.

  • At least they didn't get roped along all off-season only to get Manny Machado's friends and relatives. It could be a lot worse.

  • So I just got a text from a buddy of mine who is very connected (to MLB not necessarily Sox). Said Sox are on fire right now and close on a couple sizeable moves.

Have we decided to blame these signings on LaRussa or KW?

Whoever signed off on replacing Madrigal with utility players. I'll say that's ultimately Hahn's call.

They are only accountable to shareholders.

If you listen to the people with supposed sources,  they all soured on Madrigal.

Personally, I thought he was a useful player.

Madrigal was a top 10 2nd basemen (by fWAR) at the time of his injury. His bat clearly plays at the big league level and I think he was making strides before the injury. I don't want to have another Madrigal debate with anyone, really, but he was objectively a very productive player and clearly better than the utility guys they've brought in to replace him.

Before we anoint Nick...he played 6 games after May last year.  He had a major injury the year before. He had a major injury in his last year in college.  I loved his potential but is he not the positional equivalent of Rodon?

I'm gonna guess the Bassitt trade had some impact on what we were trying to do. Because the 2 signings came out not long after.

i would certainly agree that health is a bigger question mark for him going forward than performance.

Kimbrel to Philly not looking too good.

I think we can rule out a Kimbrel for Segura swap happening now.

Ok, fine. We’ll take Nolan Gorman.

it’s so obvious it’s going to be Joc in RF :)

Cards wouldn't do it but dealing Kimbrel for Tommy Edman would be hilarious

Add Joc to the RF mix and I think they're a lot closer to getting ~3 WAR out of RF than 2B.
