Conforto turned 29 this month. He'd be good to have for a year or two if an option is on the table (who knows). If he gets 4 years he'll probably be overpaid on the back end. He might have one monster year in him for his career. His 2017 All-Star year (.384/.555) extrapolated for 155 games instead of 109 would be a huge boost to this lineup.

I mentioned yesterday I'm not a huge fan of A's pitchers given how pitcher friendly that ballpark is and their natural regression when they leave there, but I'd pay for Sheets plane ticket myself, first class, if it meant shipping just him for either one of those guys.

People forget than Vaughn and Sheets are statues in RF. They're a joke out there. Vaughn is hideable in LF. Sheets is 1B/DH only.

I don't think Burger is a ML ready hitter yet. Yes, he hit the shit out of some fastballs last year. But he looked utterly lost against any kind of breaking ball. 

Sheets was fun to watch for a little bit but there's a core on this team and he ain't it. He should absolutely be used in any trade talks for pitchers.

Burger is ready imo and will be around a 0.250-0.275 hitter with 20-25+ HR potential.  He has nothing else to improve or show the team in AAA.  If the team is not there then he should be in a trade for a RF/2B/SP

If he is the best value available, I'd certainly rather the Sox acquire him, than no one. I just don't think that he is the guy to whom Hahn should be committing $100 Million. Tyler Naquin for his final year before free agency, at $1.45 Million seems like a better value. Most seem to agree that he wouldn't cost much in draft capital. That would provide the front office with an opportunity to see if Colas shows enough promise to be a viable long term candidate for RF.

I'm still expecting the Sox to make a "big" move whether it's trading for a SP from Oak or signing a RF.

I think the timing of their anticipated moves as well as the Freeman/Jansen signings are holding things up. They likely need to move Kimbrel to clear up money for RF or move him to get the prospects for the SP trade. I think we'll see a quick flurry of moves once these dominoes fall.

Visiting players who aren't vaccinated can play in NYC. The Sox don't play in Toronto until May 31. Hopefully, COVID is done with by then and Canada retracts their vaccine requirement to enter the country. Even if they don't, I wouldn't worry about losing a guy for 3 games when you're talking about a 4 year contract.

So in all, you're getting around 9 WAR the next 4 years. If the asking price really is 4 years and $88 million, I can see why the Sox would be hesitant. But that does not excuse how they've mis-allocated funds so far this off-season. 

Year 4 doesn’t matter with Gioltio, Lynn, Anderson, Grandal, & Abreu all possibly gone.
