I don’t even care about today’s result. If Giolito is out 4-8 weeks, this team is totally fucked.

If that happens they will have to get another legitimate pitcher as their 1-2 is gone for the first 1-2 months of the year.

Since there have been no complaints yet, batting Legend & Big Energy 6th & 7th ahead of Vaughn & Burger is really fucking stupid.

When does the Aaron Bummer pitching in the 8th inning of games experiment end?  We keep seeing the same movie but stupid enough to go back and buy another ticket.

Should have done that anyway.

What kind of injury could have that would knock him out that long?

Oblique

This is better than him saying he is concerned because of what trainers have said. Gio may have just not felt comfortable throwing and knowing our pitching situation wanted to play it safe.

Same thing as Moncada?

Isn’t that three weeks though?  I get a pitcher would require longer rehab, but eight for an oblique injury like that seems lengthy.  But what the fuck do I know.

Bummer probably should have pitched the 7th today, but Crick fucked up so badly in the 6th that Graveman had to come in early.

I don't know that Giolito would have asked out if he thought it was just a cramp.

When Kelly is back from the DL

Over Robert?

Not really, but I said 2nd to get attention. You want him to get as many plate appearances vs the starter as possible. 8th is a joke.

And knowing that it's cold and game one, smart play is not to push it.

That would depend on severity I'd guess.

Besides when you've got the best bullpen in baseball....

It could just be the Sox, but I think we're gonna see a whole shit ton of pitching injuries this month.

A cramp could hurt going through the pitching motion. And it is cold outside?

So how bad is Giolito hurt?

I didn't see the game, what happened?

Pollock should have been given an error on that last play. He should have caught the ball.

Some good today (Pollock’s a player, Vaughn looks ready to destroy, moving runners with Abreu up), lots of bad today (Bullpen not throwing strikes, offense went to sleep along with TLR late, Lucas had to leave unwillingly) and that was just one game! Tigers look pesky so remind them who rules this division tmr! :bringit

He left with abdominal pain.

Don't worry. Jason said the offense will carry the team for the first two months.

I feel like he'd have gone to the coaches and say "man I'm cramping up, I can pitch through it but what can I do" and then LaRussa would be saying "We pulled him because he was cramping up and we wanted to be extra careful", not "He knew something felt wrong"

Prayers for constipation.

Abdominal pain? As in appendicitis or oblique strain?

Considering he’s still being evaluated, it’s likely not a cramp

Sheets or Vaughn would be destroyed on here if they did that.
