Looks like a cool stadium....worth a road trip??

I was surprised that the Tigers stadium is pitcher friendly. The park is as big as an airport. The old Tigers Stadium was a hitters park. The new one is a pitchers park.

So how many minutes into the game until we get our first "Season is over" post?

The season was over when Moncada hurt himself and can't stand up if he sneezes or laughs. Of course, after a few spring training ABs, it was rather obvious he is a shell of his former self, destined to be DFA'd.

I wonder if there was any consideration to just put him on waivers now and keep Micker??

You would have to think so, although JR would have had to eat money, and RH knows, as someone who gets JR's lunch every day , he doesn't like to eat money. It's amazing Hahn and KW can't get a couple of some team's top 5 prospects for Micker. Total organizational failure.

I'm not sure if you are trying to sell me on the road trip or not??

I’ve gone twice with buddies and once with the wife for Sox games.  Plus have been there two times for concerts.  Every trip was awesome and pure debauchery.  But you got to be in the right mindset and be prepared for some pretty sketchy areas.  There are nice areas as well and the casinos are pretty cool if you’re into that thing.  Hell, one time I ended up in some random Cuban bar / resultant / dance club and Alexei Ramirez and I think Contreras were there and dancing with some nice young woman after the game.

I usually am excited when Spring Training starts, then the Spring Training games start. With the lockout this year, it was just another day. But today is different. I am excited. Wish TA was playing, but beat the crap out of Detroit.

TA is 0-14 against Rodriguez so I'm fine with hm being out today.

They did shorten LF when they moved the bullpens over there. It was way too big. Overall a nice-looking park and Greektown is nearby for walking around and dining. The rest of Detroit may have some issues. They have torn down a lot of properties and urban farming has been an ongoing major project. Detroit takes a lot of heat but so many of our old cities are a mess. My parents were from northern Michigan and I have about 50 cousins up there.

Jack has said he is trying to be not such a debbie downer....it might take 2 at bats.

I'm trying to get out all my anger for Jack's BS before the game so I won't be so pissed during it lol

Brings a tear to my eye every time and it never get's old.  Kudo's to the White Sox for including the disco demolition explosion, while it was a dark day in Sox history it is part of their history and it was a lot of fun being there until things turned ugly.

As a Detroit area denizen, downtown is a really nice place. The stadium district and down toward the river are really f'ing cool places.

Detroit has a lot of cool stuff, it is wild how spread out everything is though. Helps to have a local guide.
