An 8th inning that worked in our favor....its opposite day.

What a huge win!!  I’m in Greece right now with minimal connection to the real world, but this could be a really large win.

Moncada-Abreu-Robert-Grandal 0-14 with one walk. Is something going amiss with the Cuban Connection?

They should be mashing it either in spite of or regardless of TLR.

Shh, there are a few here who will come after us for believing that.

Who was that guy pitching the 9th? Didn't recognize him.

Burger should be the DH or 3B every night

Agree 100%.  Probably 3B so I don’t have to watch Moncada bat.

Yea, Moncada looks hurt, Burger at 3rd and maybe Mendick at 2nd.

Nice win and a clutch bomb from Burger. However, because of continued high pitch counts, Cease is beginning to look like a five-inning pitcher. The 8th inning was nerve-wracking, but the bullpen did a good job.

Burger wins that one. Beautiful home run.

Graveman was one meatball away from blowing it in the eighth. He got out of the jam barely. Good thing. That would have been a ridiculous loss following Burger's deep drive.

Tony has finally started using his guys on the bench to pinch hit

If my count is right, the Sox are 14-19 when they score 3 or fewer runs before the 10th inning. Which means 3 or fewer runs 33 out of 51 games. But good win today.

Abreu was mashing until today when his hit streak and on base streak ended. Robert had a 2 RBI double yester day and Moncada had 2 RBI though he has a long way to come before we can declare him back and who the heck knows whats going on with Grandal.

When doesn't Moncada look hurt?

Either way, a miracle win. They still have a long ways to go to even be in the conversation of contention, but hopefully this is the start of it.

Or it could be wishful thinking. That's probably what it is tbh.

Put Jeff Kent Jr.(AKA Jake Burger) at 2B for the rest of the season.

How about Moncada plays like he deserves the position instead of the IL first?  He's obviously not right mentally and/or physically.  Grandal you can chalk up to the aging cliff even if Abreu is coming out of it.
