They'd actually be able to go from 1st to 3rd and score easily on singles with a guy on 2nd. Those 2 things are challenges for the Sox.

I agree, but I think that'd really only help on the margins. If you don't draw walks or hit HR's, you're not going to be a good offensive team

This would still be highly situational tho. Homers and walks aren’t.

He played in the AL last year and in 2019.

Barely over a half as season total.   He needs more at bats then Leury.

Home runs are bad!

I still hate Nate Schierholtz with a passion because one dude on WSI wouldn’t shut up about him ?

Keep on winning series. Good stuff, boys

There's a good reason why the Sox lead the league in getting thrown out at home. They're slow and they don't score via the home run.

Great pitching today

They look lifeless even after a victory -the Tony effect.

nice easy inning for liam, still only 2 gb

Team nap at 6pm tonight before getting on the plane

I'd like to go on record to say that I predicted this 19 game stretch perfectly so far.

Hopefully I'm also right on the last 10 games. Going 5 over after this stretch is decent. The only problem is that the Twins got a lot better yesterday.

First time winning consecutive series at home since....April. Jesus.

They have a shitty first base and 3rd base coach 5 years in the running.

Choosing between Burger's glove or Yoan's bat is some legit pick your poison stuff.

Fair point, but it seems like 3B is the only position this organization seems to care about defense.

props to lynn for a great game even after the delay. Diekmann looked nasty, but he‘s had that filthy stuff his entire career he just tends to completely lose any control from time to time

tony still thinks it's April.

I’ve been thinking about this, I am not sure Moncada enjoys playing baseball anymore.

All bitching aside, the Sox did hit well today and they hit a pitcher that they've historically struggled against. That's an improvement. Now they go to Texas and face 4 pretty bad starters. Hopefully the offense gets hot and we can rattle off some more series wins.

The pitching has been good for the past five days.  Should have won all five.

Feels strange saying I like their chances of better than a series split vs Texas since it's on the road.

Shelley Duncan is running the show.

How could I have forgotten about him.  No wonder they're 2 generations behind despite actually hiring some people for that department.
