It's tough to score consistently without hitting HR's or drawing walks, it turns out

Yep, the one good inning today involved 4 hits on weak contact.  That isn’t sustainable.

  • Yes he gets hurt alot. But he can also really hit. You don’t have one of the best wRC+ in baseball as recently as half last season and not be a good hitter. He’s just in one right now.  DFAing hi

  • The depressing thing is none of it matters.  They continue on this path....they are who they are. They "blow it all up"...It's the same FO that got us into this mess They hire a new FO.

Nobody talking about it on here but Vaughn has been on base every game this year

Well, team definitely not going to break the 'score in 1 inning' mantra that seems to be dominant.

Me too. My worst three -- 1. Angel 2. CB 3. Laz Diaz

We need a patented Hawk ESPN-worthy umpire tirade about now...

If you blinked you missed that half inning.

No fight left in this team and still another four hours left to suffer through...

Pedro sure is a motivator, go back to KC

He could DH instead of Eloy.

Yep. Eloy is putting up Ozzie Guillen numbers at DH. It's close to DFA time for him.

Are the Sox only allowed to score in one inning each game?

Debated not activating Wheeler for fantasy after his rough start... just still couldn't envision Sox beating him.

Diekman, eh

  • 19:$1M, 20:$1.5M, 21:$3.5M, 22:$6.5M, 23:$9.5M, 24:$13M, 25:$16.5M club option ($3M buyout), 26:$18.5M club option ($3M buyout)

Roughly $27 million left to go lol.

Again, this is crazy talk. Eloy was one of the better hits in baseball 2nd half last year. He’s in a funk, but DFA is so far from the equation.

At this point I would move seats to sit in the shade. They have what, 3000 there?

We can agree on ONE thing at least.

Because Burger won't stay hot forever... especially against RHP.

He will get a little hot which will cause him to run the bases and he will get hurt.  Everyone remembers the last two years but he was also out of the 2020 playoff series for some baserunning injury I believe.

Eloy is becoming extremely overrated.

If they lose both of these games today, you can probably stick a fork in this team.

Consistency is what makes a player good. Eloy is not good because he can only perform in short spurts at this point. He's gotta stay healthy and drive the ball.

Sweeper doesn't let you see the dot on the ball like a slider and runs on more of a horizontal plane (2 pm to 8 pm rather than 130 to 730)... harder to pick up.

Sonny Gray v Chris Sale would be a great matchup...in 2014.

One thing is for sure.

Middleton suddenly becomes the key pitcher if the Sox are still in Game 2.

and bringing in Diekman and his 10.20ERA is tantamount to throwing in the towel in the first game.

oh yeah Diekman is getting DFAd before tomorrow

Deikman is so bad.

Gray has been quietly effective in recent years.

Just not so much hype on a Central team.

What did they call the sweeper last season?

Oakland and KC are the only two teams in the AL with a worse record than the Sox, but I guarantee you both of those teams will win their season series with the Sox.

For Scholtens again?

Burke Cronin Martin Ramsey?
