Fire Chris Getz

South Side Hit Men

During the past 40 plus years, the team has gone through several rebuilds, They usually lead to short-term success and then back to another rebuild. SInce the World Series the Sox have had 12 losing seasons and are on their way to a 13th. The hell with rebuilds.

This goes beyond just a rebuild.

Yeah, some people have lost their mind. What is happening is a disaster.

Sox could have hired some consultants for a month to get a new org structure. A GM's key role is finding talent, and Getz is horrible at it.

ITT there are people celebrating the crochet trade.. people are always forced to celebrate the unknown because once the known happens Getz is shown to suck over and over.

Hey to his credit, basically everyone hated the Fedde trade immediately :)

They could probably use Tommy Edman's 5 homers and 9 RBI's somewhere in the offense...ofc, Jerry Reinsdorf would sooner cut off his arm or leg than pay $74 million to a utility player nearing 30 after the Leury Garcia Experience.

So now JR's averse to spending on utility guys (well, over $5 million at least), bullpen guys and extending ANY starting pitcher for longer than 3 years, regardless of their career background/injury history.

I say this fully knowing that two of the guys I respect the most on this site, Harold and Jimmy, believe in Getz…..but it’s really crazy to me how Getz has been able to make it seem like he had nothing to do with the organization’s collapse a few years ago.  To me, he was one of the main culprits and it keeps getting worse with some terrible decisions.

He put together an offense full of Chris Getz

At least a lineup of nine David Eckstein’s like Jerry wanted would’ve been an improvement.

Getz overpaid for the Dollar Store knockoffs.

The guy who was in charge of player development in an organization that developed no talent was promoted to GM. I am flabbergasted how anyone can defend him.

If I had to rank:

1) Reinsdorf

2) La Russa

3) Kenny/Hahn tied

4) Getz

5) Pedro

Yet some posters on this site are trying to deny this very fact.

Getz has failed upward spectacularly, while everyone else above him has at least accomplished something in the baseball world. I mean, Hahn and KW were terrible at the end, but they never lost 121 games.
