Before we worry about next seasons manager, let's see if we can go on a run now to make this year's playoffs!  ???

I wouldn't mind Sergio Santos.

I’d take him in the bullpen over these losers

now do Schriffen

It'll be santos next year or schumaker.

Would love to pull Francona or Girardi out of retirement

I get no joy from all the joy I feel from this finally happening.

Hopefully the first of many long overdue firings in the organization.

Whoever is in charge of position player development in the minors desperately needs to be shitcanned. Or perhaps that person doesn't exist which would explain a lot as well.

Who else would you like to see go?

White Sox: Wanna manage the worst franchise in baseball in a no-win situation?

Like, they didn't kill him?

We still have to watch...he got off easy.

It continues to be one of those things where sox and bulls fans continue to be right and right early, the organizations continue to call them bloodthirsty and stupid fans, and then after dozens (in this case, literally 100) of pointless losses later where we learn nothing about them we didn't already know, they fire them, or trade them, orDFA them.

I still think manager doesn't matter that much but boy the white sox have pushed that opinion to the limits.

The beat writers can’t even get the guy’s name right.

I figured it was going to be a Bruce Levine tweet when I read it.

He should have had to sleep in the bed that he defecated in for the rest of the season.

What's Sandy Alomar doing these days?

We talk about not wanting to hire guys that keep getting passed over, Sandy has been passed over like 50 times by now.

JR: Already taken care of.

Your punishment for leading the worst team in modern baseball history?  Continuing to manage the worst baseball team in modern history.,

The Score is already ripping the Sox on how they didn’t even announce an interim manager in the “Grifol dismissed” press release.

I don't think anyone is going to defend Grifol as a legitimate manager, but this problem starts at the top. How can Reinsdorf promote his minor league talent development guy (Getz) for a team that hasn't really developed much outside of some pitching, mainly left handed starting pitchers? This roster is atrocious. Even the minor league talent, while improving on paper, appears somewhat top heavy and won't be enough to win with without spending money.

Unless the White Sox are willing to spend money AND develop a minor league system, we'll be firing the next manager in 2 years and complaining about how awful this person is.

If the White Sox were serious about putting together a competitive team, why trade Crochet for minor league talent? They can start next season (or early in) with Crochet, Schultz, Thorpe and Cannon. That is a reason for hope, but unfortunately, we know the clock is ticking on any pitcher who may have market value.

They probably will have Montgomery/Quero in the majors next season. Why not complement them, Robert/Vaughn (for now) with 2-3 significant talent upgrades?

I don't want to hear about this team developing talent and winning the "right away". If they can't commit to spending on this team and keeping their current talent, nothing will change.

Fair point.

They are still trying to convince some former player who is sitting on his couch I'm guessing (like Robin)

The only thing this does is temporarily make Sox fans happy so they forget about how shitty of a person and owner Reinsdorf is

The problem does start at the top.  JR is the biggest issue in the organization.

If he truly wanted to win, he would fire Getz this off-season.  Getz hired Grifol.  This was his guy.  Hold him accountable for the hire and for his horrible off-season and trade deadline moves.

But we know it's not going to happen.

Let Ozzie interim manage at this point. Since he wants to.
